BROWN SOARS AND COAKLEY SOURS
The Politicizer ^ | January 13, 2010 | Michele Walk

The run-up to the special election in Massachusetts to replace Ted Kennedy has brought a surprising possibility to the forefront: Massachusetts might not be as reliably liberal as the conventional wisdom holds.

In all but two of the last ten presidential elections, Massachusetts has awarded its electoral votes to a Democrat. The two elections that it went Republican: 1980 and 1984 – Ronald Reagan...

After all, this is the state that not too long ago elected a Republican governor – twice. Granted, Mitt Romney has swung hard to the right since leaving Massachusetts, but the principle still stands: the people of the Bay State are not as allergic to voting for Republicans as one might think, for one major reason – independents.

Coakley said that there’s no more terrorists in Afganistan during the debate. Then, when asked about this by a reporter after the debate, refused to comment. I hope someone jumps on this and gets an ad out, especially with the death of 7 CIA agents by a terrorist bomber.

but in the public perception he is...

I wasn't addressing 'public perception', I was addressing Romney. He's a RINO, always has been, and the idea he's become conservative is a joke.

I wouldn't be surprised - Coakley has started playing dirty. I saw on Hot Air the other day that the Dems are hiring union workers to campaign for Coakley. ACORN's the next step...

If there are no terrorists in Afganistan Coakley should tell that to the families of our 10 soldiers who died there last week!

Making three left turns does not constitute a hard right.

I am from WMASS as we (as a group) were always somewhat surprised at how racist the folks from the Boston Suburbs were. Not so much west of Worcester. We are all just bumpkins anyway.

Good point - it’s all about the money. A townhall meeting the other day in Minnesota (I think) was full of people complaining about the health care takeover. The speaker kept saying it will bring a gazillion dollars to our state - he couldn’t seem to grasp it was coming out of the very hands of those in front of him - he just saw dollar signs. Normally that appeases the idiot masses

The part that I find rather surprising is the the key driving motivator appears to be disgust with Obamacare.
And of all people, Massachusetts residents ought to be the least resistant to that, since they’ve been living under the version Mitt Romney foisted upon them for several years now.

Back in ‘62, when Kennedy first ran for Senate, in one of his debates with his opponent Edward McCormack, McCormack told him, “If your name were Edward Moore instead of Edward Moore Kennedy, this race would be a joke!”

While McCormack (the McCormack name at the time was still a formidable institution in the state) was no great shakes himself, he sure saw through the fog and nailed this one correctly.

Looks like Kennedy was a demented and twisted soul. Real example of a POS sewer rat that was never held accountable for anything. He plays while the rest of us pay.
