Obama: No healthcare action until Brown is seated By Michael O'Brien - 01/20/10 02:22 PM ET
President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the Senate should halt any action on healthcare legislation until Senator-elect Scott Brown (R-Mass.) can be seated.
Obama told ABC News's George Stephanopoulos in an interview to air tonight that he doesn't want to move on health legislation, his top domestic priority, until Brown joins the Senate, which would give the GOP enough votes to sustain a filibuster.
"Here's one thing I know and I just want to make sure that this is off the table: The Senate certainly shouldn't try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated," the president said. "The people of Massachusetts spoke. He's got to be part of that process."

Now he is considering Republicans views on health care. I am for passing health care reform but not Obamacare. EVERYONE should have access (notice not free) to health care. Insurance companies should not be free of antitrust laws.

Obama just wants to be able to blame Brown for his failed health plan. That’s OK, Sen. Brown (R-Mass) will be happy to take credit for that.
Good for him that he said that, but I don’t believe a word of it. Pelosi has said otherwise ... and she’s got the whip and stillettos.
I have to admit I spend almost as much time reading DU as I do FR, perhaps for the same reason I enjoy horror movies.
Looks to me like Obama's waving the white flag of surrender. At least that's the appearance. I don't trust him any more than any other tin-pot dictator.
However, you've got to admit that this is a major (public) concession to the current political reality, on his part.
Check what he’s doing with his other hand. Nothing this a**hole Kenyan does is forthright or honest. He’s probably already making Brown and offer he can’t refuse, or threatening his family.

More like Clinton in that respect. After Hillarycare was defeated and Republicans took over congress, Clinton saw the writing on the wall and tried harder to appear centrist and won reelection.
