Campaign against the guy who introduced you to the rest of the world?”

That’s not her only choice. Like I said in #110

“I think she’d get a real bump from our side, if she’d just say,..‘I’m going to wait until the primary has played out there, I do appreciate a lot of what John McCain has stood for, but I’m going to let the voters decide in the primary first.’”

Personally I am loyal to conservative values not people who say they are conservative yet perform like a liberal or moderate socialist. Be they someone we chose yesterday by accident or someone we choose tomorrow on purpose if they stray from conservative values we are not obligated to keep supporting them or staying quiet about their performance.

..... Thus the reason I vote on ones record versus ones promises. Anything less is IMHO a risky bet at best. Such as the lesser of two evils concepts we are usually presented during an election. No polidiot is perfect, no polidiot deserves blind silent devotion. Politics has a human element as we all know and is fallible to the nth degree. Constant attention to it’s every act is the effort that must be maintained to preserve our beloved republic and liberty.

Just my opinion of course.

Stay safe !

That’s exactly why it breaks my heart McGruff! You are right..she is caught in a bad place, but she DIDN’T have to be there!!! She could have simply stayed out of the race completely.

But after the whole visor thing happened, and she said she supported him 100%, it all went to hell. She had to keep her word after that...she could have just bought a new visor!!

Anyway, I see both sides of the coin...maybe I’m being biased because I AM in AZ and i DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT want McCain in this state any longer. Because I have such animosity toward McCain I may be a little sensitive to her endorsement of him...It feels personal, you know? ;)

Hayworth lost his Congressional seat in 2006. Why does he deserve to be a United States Senator at this time? I personally would vote against him.

If you look at posts prior to this week, I’ve very much supported Sarah. I purchased her books for Christmas presents...worked for her ticket in 11/2008. Please don’t assume...:)

Glenn Beck interviewed Sarah yesterday and asked her specifically why she was campaigning for McCain.

Sarah said that McCain is an important ally in fighting ObamaCare and other issues. The truth is that McCain, as much as he IS a RINO, has been bashing ObamaCare from day one, and has strongly spoken out against it in recent months.

Today, Glenn pointed out that Sarah is campaigning for McCain because, as she said yesterday, “I honor my promises.”

Glenn doesn’t agree with it. Most of us here don’t agree with it. I can only venture to guess that in between now and November, McCain can be helpful in keeping the 41 Republican votes together as other versions of ObamaCare come down the pike. McCain is, despite his RINO record, a Republican vote in the Senate to stop Obama’s agenda — at least for another 9½ months.

In the end, yes, may McCain get an elephant-sized Conservative ass-kicking on November 2.
____________________________________________________________

Amen brother, I don’t like this one bit and I wish it wasn’t so, but it is a messy reality between Sarah and McCain....

BTW all of this talk of Sarah being a RINO is a joke, what major issues has she taken that makes her one? none. What issues does Sarah and John McCain agree on that’s a RINO position?! none.

Sarah’s got no real choice in this. She doesn’t have to agree with McCain on everything to support him, and I’m happy to take her word that she sees him as an American hero, a needed symbol for our troops. She’s already fenced with him on certain issues, and I don’t doubt that’ll continue. And maybe some of her will rub off.

Hayworth, on the other hand, with ALL the right answers, still looks like a scandal waiting to happen. Maybe it’s his hair.

"Still, 74% of likely GOP Primary voters have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of McCain, a figure that has not changed since November. Hayworth’s favorable ratings are down nine points to 58%."

Exactly. What's hurting Hayworth the most in the polls is that he's taken a page from Fred Thompson's campaign play book. Publicly toy with the idea of running, tease your potential supporters with vague speculation, but wait until the last possible minute to declare your candidacy...or not. Unfortuantely, as with Thompson, voters become fatigued and frustrated with the waiting.

“I refuse to throw Sarah under the bus.”

I hope you don’t think that asking questions of Sarah Palin related to the AZ Senate race is throwing her under the bus...:)

There are people who have been chomping at the bit for Sarah to support McCain, just so they can trash her.

More likely people who've been hoping Sarah would establish her own identity and establish her positions on major issues. She seemed to make a great start during her book tour and with some of her Facebook posts. But now that the tour is over and she's joined Fox, it's been all downhill since then.

And, if she claims to be a conservative, there is no explaining away joining the campaign of the biggest, backstabbing, scheming and harmful RINO in Washington. No one has done more harm to conservatism than Juan McCain.

Is there anyone running who isn’t more conservative than McCain?

Ah, you’re right. Got it marked on the calendar ;)

I’m confident that between now and August 31, the
Conservatives in Arizona can recall his voting record and
see his through the bullsh!t.

As you said, we’ll see... but I didn’t have to wait to see, and sit back in the last Presidential election — I voted for McCain and Palin... :-)
+++++++++++++++

As did I. And they lost pretty badly. And she still has her star. That does not mean that if she acts against Conservatives she’ll maintain her star.

I hope she’ll reconsider as I wrote in #110:

so because she was used to help McCain in the election she should now help him .

If it weren't for McCain she would not have made it to the national stage so soon. He also loaned her the money to set up her PAC.

As of right this minute McCain doesn't have an official challenger in the primary. Hayworth has yet to throw his hat into the ring.

Like you, I'm none too happy about it, but I understand the give and take. Once she has paid off her debt to McCain she never has to worry about it again. Give her some time - it's a long way to 2012. Let's also not forget, RINO or not, McCain's resources and contacts could very well come in handy for Sarah for a run at the Presidency. And for goodness sake the woman is going to make mistakes and do some things you and I will never understand as outsiders. Keep your powder dry. This isn't worth crucifying the woman over.

Hayworth hasn’t even declared his candidacy and McCain has been acting a bit more like he is aware that he might be challenged from the right. Hayworth can’t run a Coakley campaign . He needs to sell himself. Dems won’t put much effort into challenging McCain but Hayworth would change that. It would be nice to see a respectful idea based primary challenge.

You have got to step back and look at the bigger picture. Stop putting Sarah in a snow globe. It serves none of us well.

Well, at least you did better in regards to voting for McCain and Palin, instead of like some crazy and nutty FReepers here who have said that McCain wasn't qualified under the Constitution, in the same manner that Obama wasn't... (no... there are FReepers like that... LOL...).

Sarah’s not the one that’s ‘running’. It’s McQueeg. So, let’s keep our fire directed on him. Anyone who wants and continues to distract from that, has not good intentions.
