Oh dear, that is bad, very bad. I had a friend that ruptured his bowel in an accident. He recovered initially after a long extensive period of time in ICU. He died about a year later.
Prayers for JM. I do hope he has made peace with his maker.
Yes, it is very bad. Can infect the entire body cavity/ organs and etc.
People in PA believe in him the way their neighbors do Robert Carlyle Byrd in WV.
So the government hospital is guilty of malpractice and may kill the elderly PA icon?
Peritonitis, IMHO. Usually terminal eventually unless the body cavity is cleaned up almost immediately.
you don’t go to the ICU just because you have MRSA.....
btw.....what is Tim Johnsons condition?
Finally somebody had the gall to “say it like WE feel.” I’m sure our brave men and women at the hospital are NOT happy to have him there...after such awful talk in past years!
No matter how I feel about him, Christ tells us to pray for our enemies, do good to those who hate us.
So...Heavenly Father, please bless John Murtha with a quick smooth recovery. Please grant him freedom from pain, and please comfort those who love him. In Christ’s Most Holy Name I pray, Amen.
May the Lord look after him and bring him healing. May He bring peace to his family. In Jesus’ name....
Really? I’d figure it was too late for a special election.
Murtha’s been in danger before and pulled it out. He has a district that is old and blue-collar and votes out of habit. It’s exactly the demographic that’s abandoning Dems in droves. Murtha will obviously not run again and an R will be elected for that seat in November.
It could be that the political parties would decide to leave the seat vacant until the regular General Election in November, but barring that a special election could be held. It would be necessarily truncated, with a primary as early as March and an election in April, if there was no interference by the federal courts. It's all speculation on my part, of course.
I would prefer that Murtha is able to seek re-election in November. He has increasingly become damaged goods here in the 12th District, and ideally I would like to see my candidate, LtCol(ret.)Bill Russell defeat him once and for all.
If Murtha doesn't run for re-election (for whatever reason), then the Democrats, who have a 2.2 to 1 registered voter advantage, may be less inclined to cast a protest vote for a Republican.
It’s not the saints amoung us that need the prayers.
I’ll pray for him. I’ve certainly prayed for people worse then John Murtha.
You win.
Recovered and re-elected in 2008.
Peritonitis, IMHO. Usually terminal eventually unless the body cavity is cleaned up almost immediately.
Yep, poop (and the germs within) can go everywhere in the belly.
Very painful. Very bad to get. Very hard to clear up. I'll bet they had to make a big cut in Murtha's very ample gut to clean up the mess.
We are all God's children, even the turdball libs; so I won't say much more than this: I hope that this serious health calamity has caused him to do some soul searching, and that he called a Marine Chaplain and made a sincere apology to the men and women in the Corps who he has defamed repeatedly in the past few years.
