Fox to air Palin's Tea Party address
Politico ^ | 02-02-10 | Michael Calderone

Fox News will broadcast Sarah Palin’s keynote address to the National Tea Party Convention live on Saturday night, allowing millions of viewers to see the main attraction of a gathering that was once criticized for barring the press.

The network, which pays Palin as a political analyst and is considered the favored network of conservatives, will carry Palin’s speech during Geraldo at Large in the 9 p.m. hour, a network spokeswoman told POLITICO.

On Monday, convention organizers announced that they had credentialed Fox as well as CNN, Reuters TV and Pajamas Media, and was working with them to facilitate video coverage of select parts of the convention. But neither the organizers, nor the media outlets, announced specific coverage plans.

Representatives for CNN, which has the second widest reach among credentialed broadcast outlets to Fox, did not immediately respond to an email asking whether they intended to broadcast Palin’s speech or any other portions of the convention live.

OK, here it goes;

General Honore made some very specific points about people who keep beating a dead horse as you are displaying in spades right now.

You are showing you are a troll because you just like those idiots in Congress who just can’t stop digging!

PUT THE SHOVEL DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM THE HOLE.

Boy this is interesting legal ground

Sarah is a private citizen. She is undeclared, therefore she is, duh, *not* a candidate and has no special limits on her speech.

Fox News can broadcast just about anything they want on cable except porn and a couple other things. They decide what will interest their viewers. Same goes for the other channels.

So, what's your beef? What is it, exactly, that's you find unclear?

Freedom got your tongue?

Palin is making great use of the First Amendment. What is really killing lefty Demons is that Palin will always have an audience and her words are going to be a powerful weapon against this administration and that evil party and their media minions.

Fixed with PROPER context.

You better order us up a warehouse full. We are going to need a ton of it, for the next 10 months. Boy I could have used a lot of that during the month before the Scott Brown election. LOL

I’m not inferring she can’t or shouldn’t do it, I just saying the situation is unique in history. If you can't see that than I wonder about your questionable intellect.

alfranken on air America, was an undeclared candidate and ran for the senate.

Obviously, he didn't get the same amount of coverage, but he was on the air, and both of his listeners supported him.

You might want to refrain from questioning anyone else's intellect in the same post where you confuse "infer" and "imply". You very clearly did imply something untoward when you started your post with "Boy this is interesting legal ground." What is a reasonable reader supposed to infer from that?

Nobody complained when Newt did it, and has done it for several years.

Boy this is interesting legal ground. An undeclared candidate, giving a political speech, while being employed by a news outlet, possibly being coved by opposing media channels, etc, etc...???

How is it "interesting" legal ground? She's undeclared, and speaking before a gathering that is not a political party, so there goes the "partisan" argument. So, what's the issue?
