Be prepared, but don’t be afraid.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Living in fear stinks.
Plus, you can be a rescuer instead of a rescuee, because you were prepared, and were not petrified with fear.
Every time we get a good jolt here, I go, Oh crap , is this THE BIG ONE .. The 9.0 plus .. gulp
but usually in a few seconds you can guage how deep the kimchi is you are standing&swaying in..
tornado, earthquake, hurricane, tsunami ??
If I had to pick one as the fate dejeur
at least a earthquake leaves it all in one pile..
Every good shaker I have been in my initial reflex resembles a deer in the headlights and/or I am on the toilet at the same time.
IOW no matter how prepared we are food/supplies/generator ect...my reaction/reflex at the time of the event is to do the above.
And just about the time I get ready to react the quake is over, then comes the was that the main big one or are there bigger shakes to follow.
Its just a fact for me that in some situations my human nature over powers my years of practicing my faith.
Earthquakes albeit rare up here have that effect.
But your scripture is good in times of fear of the unknown and trusting other humans.
