You will learn of the last Congressional fact finding group, of which Murtha was a participant, sent to Vietnam to determine if we would should continue to provide funding for and armament support as we agreed in the Peace Agreement.
The Group came back and suggested against further funding. Shortly thereafter SVN was without funding and armaments and we witnessed the Fall of Saigon.

It is hard for me to imagine a ‘man’ of his stature and dubious legislative past ever being a mud Marine. I have no clue as to his actual service or commendations but based on his following ‘service’ to this nation as a ‘Congressperson’ I’d have classified him as a REMF.
