WASHINGTON – A Democratic official says Rep. Patrick Kennedy has decided not to seek re-election for his seat representing Rhode Island in the U.S. Congress.

...

The decision by the eight-term congressman comes less than a month after a stunning Republican upset in the race for the Massachusetts Senate seat his late father, Edward Kennedy, held for almost half a century.

A lot of retirements lately. 18 pubs and 16 or so rats?

I've noticed this more than any other time I can remember. With all the apocalyptic news and conspiracies out there, I find myself wondering if these people are not quitting to spend time with their families - knowing something we do not. Whether that something is geo-political, economic, environmental, astrological, or little green men related, I don't know. But makes me nervous seeing so many announcing so early they are 'retiring' - many at an early age. (I realize some are seeing the writing on the wall, but still there's a LOT of them)

Of course, I could just be a nut.

I think we’ll see more and more ‘RATS abandoning ship as more and more “ObamaCare”, Cap’n Tax and amnesty for illegal aliens deals fall through. The Tea Party is already causing big ‘RAT casualties.

(unless he keeps making headlines for being drunk and-disorderly).

I doubt it.

We will never hear another peep about another kennedy...with the possible exception of AH-nold’s wife.

The reason? No one cares, not even democrats.

Pick up your sword and get ready to use it on all the Marxists/Communists that are in your way. You will demonstrate what heroism/conservatism is all about!

Dunno about that, he certainly seemed to be enjoying living high on the hog on the taxpayer dime.

Without Teddy around, I’m guessing that internal polling told him his constituents decided he wasn’t worth much by his lonesome.

I also heard that when she wanted to go to rehab in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s she was not allowed to go as it would have been scandalous to “the family”.

That whole family belongs in hell, burning for eternity.

This seat will still be competitive. Win or lose, we are rid of Kennedy. And that is most welcome news; and an embarassment for Pelosi.

Dodd’s departure has increased the likelihood of the RATS holding that seat, but it is not a slam dunk. We may have a tsunami in the works.

SWEETNESS!

As I predicted, he knows he’s toast and would refuse to run again than be beaten like the proverbial rented mule.

The village idiot thinks he’s saving face by this non-move.

The runt’s runt is no more!!! BWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

Well, that's too bad if he doesn't run again and get beaten in a far and square head to head fight. I would prefer to get his ass beaten on the town square in full view of the the public.

The Dems have big mouths but small balls. It's a signature quality.

You didn’t even begin to touch on the vicious things that were done to Joan. Yes, she had a genetic predisposition to alcoholism, but Ted literally drove her to drink.

Doubtful. Between Buddy Cianci and John Loughlin, this should be a GOP pickup, regardless of the Rat candidate.
