‘Oddball’ portrait of Amy Bishop emerges
The Boston Herald ^ | 02/15/10 | Laurel J. Sweet, Jessica Van Sack, Jessica Fargen and Ira Kantor

As authorities searched for clues into what could have sent a University of Alabama neurobiology professor on an alleged killing spree, friends and family yesterday described Braintree native Amy Bishop as an awkward introvert on the brink of losing her teaching job.

* * *

A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was “obsessed” with President Obama to the point of being off-putting.

“Extroverts can’t understand introverts (who are in the minority), and what they can’t convert they scorn. It’s tedious.”

No truer words have ever been written on this forum.

</former introvert who became extrovert.

You couldn’t create a more stereotypical female liberal if you were a casting director.................

Hasn’t anybody heard of a MAD SCIENTIST? THis is what they were called before they became ‘godlike figures’ that the world now bows down and worships. They are in the business of duplicating and manipulating that which our true GOD created.

"Any bets that she drives a Subaru?"

Who now! Tell me why driving a Subaru alludes to one being a crazy liberal?

This is a common assumption based on the “bumper sticker research” done by those of us who circle our cities and towns as we commandeer our family to their work and school destinations.

My 4x4 V8 pickup is like the love of my life but our Forester is the best car we ever owned. 93,000+ unforgiving hard driven miles and has never had a single problem. Take the Subaru/Lib jokes with pride.

A lady friend refers to Subarus as ‘Lesbarus’ and claims they’re all driven by lesbians with dogs.

I’m from northern climes and know them as ‘soccer mom’ vehicles crowding out minivans and Volvos.

Anyone else heard them called ‘Lesbarus’?

I have not. But, I did see a Subaru Tribeca this morning with a big picture of Obama and hope on it with Texas license plates. When I saw the ugly bumper sticker, being the “bumper sticker researcher” that I am, I was amazed at the audacity of exposing me to such porn so early in the morning, then I saw the Texas license plate and realized they must have been on the “run”. Since I am in Nebraska, I think they must be heading to Minnesota, land of many stupids. I said “many” not all.

A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was “obsessed” with President Obama to the point of being off-putting.

I would bet even money that she is a frequent poster at DU.

It would be great if her online activities could be exposed (DU user name, etc).

Also - it's very interesting that during her shooting spree she targeted minorities exclusively.

All in all it seems like a classic case of liberal psychosis.

That’s right. My husband is on a tenure committee where he teaches and this really shook him. We hope for no copy cat events. In our experience, these committees are very careful and are mindful what they are doing to someone’s career. However, they put, at least here, the education of the student first. A very, very troubling event.

Police in Huntsville, Ala., charged Bishop, 44, with capital murder

This article had four authors and presumably at least one editor and not one of them has watched enough Law and Order reruns to know that police cannot charge people with crimes.
