The 14 million is significant. Indiana’s not too far from Iowa. I think Evan maybe making a run at Obama.

Something is up here.

Yes, but is it limited to just Evan Bayh and his own actions?

“Indiana’s Bayh retiring” American Thinker (Rick Moran)

Excerpt:

Clearly, he [Bayh] did not relish the thought of a long, bruising campaign. But he might have made a decision sooner. Tomorrow is the deadline for candidates filing for the senate in Indiana and Democrats have been caught unawares. Indiana Democrats will almost certainly be able to choose a strong candidate either through the convention process, or have the choice devolve to the state committee. But not having Bayh at the top of the ticket is a blow.

As for GOP prospects in taking over the senate? A LONGSHOT GETTING SHORTER BY THE WEEK. No less than 10 Democratic seats are now considered competitive. But the GOP has problems with open seats in several states and there is no guarantee they can hold on to all of them - a requirement if they were to realize the MIRACLE of a senate takeover.

The Democratic MELTDOWN continues...

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

“Something is up here.”

Yes, but is it limited to just Evan Bayh and his own actions?

Bayh attended a Democrat Senate luncheon that Obama attended on Feb. 3rd and was the last Senator to ask Obama questions of their choice. Bayh’s interaction with Obama is described below:

“Bayh drills Obama on party’s spending”

Feb. 14, 2010 Syvia A. Smith Journalgazette.net

http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20100204/NEWS03/302049933/1066

WASHINGTON – Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., pressed President Obama on federal spending Wednesday as Democratic senators met for a strategy conference and asked him why the Democratic Party should be trusted in dealing with the public purse.

Obama said the party deserves Americans’ trust “because the last time this budget was balanced, it was under a Democratic president who made some very tough decisions,” a reference to former President Bill Clinton, who created a budget surplus.

Bayh’s views on the deficit and federal spending have set him somewhat apart from the White House and other Senate Democrats.

“Frankly,” Bayh said, “I think the public and average citizen have been way ahead of the political class on this. They understand in the long run this is unsustainable, it’s bad economics. They understand that generationally, it’s unfair to our children to ask them to pay these bills. And most of all, there’s a sense of unfairness.”

Bayh praised Obama for announcing plans to freeze some federal spending in the 2011 budget and his call for more transparency for budget add-ons that lawmakers approve.

But, he said, “my question to you, Mr. President, is (in) speaking to independents, conservative Democrats, moderate Republicans – people who know we have to do this – why should the Democratic Party be trusted? And are we willing to make some of the tough decisions to actually head this country in a better direction?”

This is great news for we Hoosiers! Have to say though still pretty surprised by his decision. Been too busy to read the entire thread but I wonder if the recent allegations about Bayh’s questionable Indiana residence was a factor in his decision. Playing fast and lose with this sort of thing would tick off a lot of the state if it starting getting more attention.

You can read the details, and see the photos of the Bayh’s Indiana “residence” here:

I can’t help but think this actually play into Obama’s hands. If you remember the first two years of Clinton’s first term were a disaster. But as soon as he was able to blame the Republican congress, he came back and got reelected. He made a nice career out of blaming Republicans for everything. If Obama has as a Democratic congress when he faces reelection, he loses.

Now that they don’t care about being reelected, they may go way left.

In addition, it would have been easier to defeat an incumbent who voted for the Health monstrosity. Now there will be a new Dem candidate and some voters will feel it’s fine to vote for him since he didn’t vote for Obamacare.

Rush is spot on, Bayh will run for President as an independent in 2012.

Had not heard that...interesting thought. Wouldn't he pull away more moderate Dems, though?

I think Bayh went as far as he could go with the rats down the road they’re taking. I think he knows that if he’s going to go onto bigger things in politics or even just keep his sanity, he had to dump the zero-pelosi-reid albatross.

But then again, now that he no longer needs the democrat party he may vote more conservative. It’s hard to spit in the eye of a group that owns you, but once you’re free you can kick them in the nuts at will.

So, since the people of Indiana tend to be conservative (excluding teh welfare classes and the brain dead of course) maybe this will be good for us not only at the election but before it to.

Thanks for the Senate 2010 ping.

The republic will be quite secure without the ‘Rat Crime Syndicate and its enablers. Bayh, Bayh SCUMBAG. Some should be allowed to resign and go back to their families. Others...

Watching some of the morning news coverage today was HILARIOUS. The “news” readers emphasized Bayh’s popularity and how he was UPSET WITH REPUBLICANS for not going along with the “bipartisan” commission to determine the national budget.

NOT mentioned was how he is supposedly a centrist and how he is not on the Hussein reservation.

God, how I hate the liberal media.

We need a majority in the U.S. Senate in 2011-2012 for 5 reasons:
1. John Paul Stevens (b. 1920).
2. Ruth “Vader” Ginsburg (b. 1933).
3. Stephen Breyer (b. 1938).
4. Sonia Sotomayor (b. 1954).
5. Anthony Kennedy (b. 1936).

Four justices are over 70, and Sotomayor has advanced diabetes. It’s possible all five could retire before Jan 20, 2013. 54 would be better, and a conviction-likely 78 Senator would prove interesting.

I want Clarence Thomas to be the swing vote on the Supreme Court, or better yet, Janice Rogers Brown.

I’m sure he would.
Not surprised, Obama has segregated his own party as well as those in his administration. This is a Saul Alynsky strat. The only people privy to what is going on are Rham, Axlerod, Obama and sort of kind of, Gibbs. The rest are kept in the dark. This has placed a rift and is causing dissension in the ranks. This is happening in the Dem party as well with Pelosi and Reid.

Those Dems who are moderate and actually function to some extent with a conscious, do not like what they are seeing and are frustrated with not being able to work, i.e. do what their constituents voted them to do. Bayh, wants to pass bills that matter and as usually, he sees an opportunity to beat Obama in 2012.

Bayh may know the whole thing is about to implode i.e. The United States.

I'm with you on that.....

We are headed for a Double Dip Recession that will convert to a full fledged Depression given the ideology currently steering the ship.

Should the populace decide that it was all for the sake of the banking cabal, and those to who they have made payoffs, all bets are off for what could transpire politically.
