Let me make this perfectly clear...these unprecedented numbers were unexpected, and it is George Bush’s fault.

It’s always unexpectedly.

I guess that’s true if you are deaf, dumb, and blind.

Like a Dem.

It’s unexpected only if you’re drinking the Obama Kool-Aid.

It's an AP wire report. What is it with the AP and the word "unexpectedly"?

AP -- WASHINGTON -- The number of newly laid-off workers filing applications for unemployment benefits unexpectedly surged last week after having fallen sharply in the previous week.

You would not expect
That unemployment will fall
Given these numbers.

Could it possibly be that a lot of State workers were not in their offices last week to process claims, because of the massive snowfalls in areas where government workers were given “liberal leave?”

The previous week drop had nothing to do with the bad weather across the Nation did it??? Just like Bambi bragging about the 6% increase in the economy yesterday. He didn’t mention that most of it was inventory replacement and would be short lived, but acted like we have gained 12% since he took over. This group doesn’t have a clue and demonstrate this to us every time they speak.

This ‘unexpected’ news explains why Obama asserted yesterday that the stimulus was never intended to be the long-term solution to the economic downturn. Of course, he had never said that before, to my knowledge, but of course all previous communiques are down the memory hole.

After all the whoopla from the slight decline in last week's early numbers, this week's early numbers could really be unexpected.

[I didn't see the revised numbers for last week. They are usually out by Tuesday of the following week.]

It will be interesting to see whether the actual UE percent has ticked up, since they fudged the numbers last week to get to 9.7%.

==

FoxNews just released numbers: up 40,000 more than expected. At jobless claims at 473,000 this week.

-- snip --

The increase followed a drop of 41,000 in the previous week which had raised hopes that the labor market, which has lost 8.4 million jobs since the recession began in December 2007, could be improving.

-- snip --

Yeah we know, /s> but since the rats took over in January 2007 that excuse that it is Bush's fault is lame and old. That p o s, who currently occupies the People's House needs to come up with something that is more belivable
