The President's Proposal: Health Care Plan (oh boy here we go!)
WhiteHouse.gov ^ | Monday February 22, 2010

Posted on 02/22/2010 7:30:55 AM PST by Bigtigermike

The President’s Proposal puts American families and small business owners in control of their own health care.

* It makes insurance more affordable by providing the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history, reducing premium costs for tens of millions of families and small business owners who are priced out of coverage today. This helps over 31 million Americans afford health care who do not get it today – and makes coverage more affordable for many more.

* It sets up a new competitive health insurance market giving tens of millions of Americans the exact same insurance choices that members of Congress will have.

* It brings greater accountability to health care by laying out commonsense rules of the road to keep premiums down and prevent insurance industry abuses and denial of care.

* It will end discrimination against Americans with pre-existing conditions.

* It puts our budget and economy on a more stable path by reducing the deficit by $100 billion over the next ten years – and about $1 trillion over the second decade – by cutting government overspending and reining in waste, fraud and abuse.

The President’s Proposal bridges the gap between the House and Senate bills and includes new provisions to crack down on waste, fraud and abuse.

* Eliminating the Nebraska FMAP provision and providing significant additional Federal financing to all States for the expansion of Medicaid;

* Closing the Medicare prescription drug “donut hole” coverage gap;

* Strengthening the Senate bill’s provisions that make insurance affordable for individuals and families;

* Strengthening the provisions to fight fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid;

* Increasing the threshold for the excise tax on the most expensive health plans from $23,000 for a family plan to $27,500 and starting it in 2018 for all plans;

* Improving insurance protections for consumers and creating a new Health Insurance Rate Authority to provide Federal assistance and oversight to States in conducting reviews of unreasonable rate increases and other unfair practices of insurance plans.

I know he talks about evil insurance companies but how about evil trial lawyers?

How about the gouging that goes on in the health industry? How come my pharmacy charges $120 for a product I can get at Amazon for $40?

Thought this would be interesting from CBO Directors Blog.
Congressional Budget Office
Director’s Blog

« Policies for Increasing Economic Growth and Employment in the Short TermThe Obama Administration’s Health Care Proposal
This morning the Obama Administration released a description of its health care proposal, and CBO has already received several requests to provide a cost estimate for that proposal. We had not previously received the proposal, and we have just begun the process of reviewing it—a process that will take some time, given the complexity of the issues involved. Although the proposal reflects many elements that were included in the health care bills passed by the House and the Senate last year, it modifies many of those elements and also includes new ones. Moreover, preparing a cost estimate requires very detailed specifications of numerous provisions, and the materials that were released this morning do not provide sufficient detail on all of the provisions. Therefore, CBO cannot provide a cost estimate for the proposal without additional detail, and, even if such detail were provided, analyzing the proposal would be a time-consuming process that could not be completed this week.

Rush Limbaugh made a remark today that I took as meaning he has information (that cannot be confirmed at the present time)that Obama is mentally ill. This is possible but my take on Obama is the same as yours - Obama is a psychopath - the psychological term for “evil.”

Thank you for your service to this country, Ronbo.

We need to be ready for whatever happens. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

And we have been duly warned by the Marxists trying to destroy our great nation.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with health care but everything to do with taxes! We have to face it and pay for there spending. Cap & Trade, same thing. All that matters is the taxes.

Coming next, your 401K’s!

I heard that too - it was a very curious/intriguing series of observations. Rush often says the most powerful things in the final seconds before a break.

There’s something more wrong with him though - beyond clinical diagnoses of psychopath and narcissistic sociopath - there’s something worse, much worse, that I haven’t been able to put my finger on yet.

The closest I can come is I see pure Evil, a very powerful pure Evil, one that has yet to be released.

You can thank Scot Brown, he mentioned it, and as my hubby is retired Senior Chief on TFL my ears perked up. I thought at first it was part of obamadeathcare, but it is in a already passed DOD bill. There will be increases to the co-pays for RX's if some of the stuff I've seen is correct. All we know at this point in time it is on hold because Vet groups got loud about it and got it delayed until 2011 hoping to get it repealed altogether. Of course bambi is promising not to let it go into effect....If you believe that I've some prime ocean front property in the Saudi Desert to sell you.

This is breaking yet another promise to our Military. Fees are taxes, and obambi promised not to raise taxes on those of us making under $250G...well as 2 old qeezers we don't even make a fourth of that, with hubby's retirement and our SS combined.

The bill might have originated under GW when the dems had control of both houses, as part of CBO recommendations to control cost.

I'm not sure if it affects more than TFL, because there is also Tricare Prime. BOTH TFL and Medicare are admined out of the same agency.

He’s become like a stalker. The US is the girl in this example, and he’s the creepy guy. The girl accepted one date (the election.) After a few more dates, she realized he was psycho and she told him to back off. However, he keeps coming at her with different ideas and she keeps turning him down, but he won’t give up. This fall is gonna be Obama’s restraining order. The 2012 election will be when her new boyfriend beats the sh*t out of him.

I fear that in your analogy, the girl doesn't survive until 2012. Her stalker kills her before anyone can save her.

I hear a lot of talk about how we’ll pay for several years before we get the benefits. Umm, actually there are no benefits for us. This bill forces you to buy your own plan under their terms or be fined, you still have to shell out the money, none of this 1 trillion goes to that.

Sooner or later, people MUST move outside their comfort zone. Letters, emails, faxes, are not going to do it. If this passes, everyone MUST refuse to cooperate, in any way, shape of form. Full rebellion mode coming up.

That's right. And, there's enough real anger out there to do it. Civil disobedience. Go from “passive resistance” to the next step.

It’s strange that “MEDIA” isn’t checked off, and that PUBLIC EDUCATION isn’t listed and checked off as well.

But this battle is not over... we have only begun to fight!

That’s why he SO desperately wants to shove this through. He still doesn’t recognize the power and resolve of the American people. He can’t relate.

“Power to the people!”

 From the CBO

"This morning the Obama Administration released a description of its health care proposal, and CBO has already received several requests to provide a cost estimate for that proposal. Therefore, CBO cannot provide a cost estimate for the proposal without additional detail, and, even if such detail were provided, analyzing the proposal would be a time-consuming process that could not be completed this week."

Does this mean that he will try to ram it through before anyone can analyze it? Where are the details that the CBO needs or will they be "filled in later"? I am so fed up with this nonsense.
