"..possibly within a couple of months or so,..."

At this point in the game that is just another way of saying "this turkey is dead".

I really doubt Pelosi’s talent for “muscling votes” is going to work this time around.

The endorphins from the berserker frenzy/kamikaze push to sign the House bill have worn off and those reps who do not come from super-safe districts are now sobered up and thinking of the consequences.

Those threaten and bribe tactics are not going to wash anymore. Self-preservation wins.

Today, Democrat Senator Kent Conrad swore the Dems would not use reconciliation to pass Obama’s health care bill.

Democratic leaders in the Congress voiced confidence on Sunday they will have the votes, possibly within a couple of months or so, to pass landmark legislation to overhaul the healthcare system.

Maybe I'm just "whistling past the graveyard", but that sounds to me like they're going to put off voting on it till they're so close to the November elections that by mutual and probably silent consensus the vote will be delayed till AFTER the election : And how the elections go may determine whether the crap is EVER voted on...at the very least, if the Ds are voted out and replaced by Rs, it will then be safe to conclude that the proposals are dead at least for the foreseeable future.

Democrats have said they may resort to a rarely used procedural tactic, .. reconciliation,

Nuclear option!

What's good for Republicans is good for political idiots too.

There is no way to get the public to like or accept this. The government has left social security, medicare and the government broke, does anyone except welfare folks really want to see a sixth of our economy go under control of a failing government?

I dont get it. The key aspects of the legislation —the individual mandate and ban on excluding preexisting conditions—cant be passed by reconciliation. I understand that. Why dont these people?

Good old dependable Reuters , a far left wing / socialist British front group printing off faxes from Peliso’s office.
Have you ever seen such a dedicated non PR push by the Dem party state media !!!!
Reuters the same outfit that pulled a truthful article about the awful economy after one phone call from Axelrod ! What a pack of Lies and BS the media has become !

“Obama’s Democrats.”

What, are they now his personal property? Bought and paid for?

Obama’s Democrats voice new confidence on healthcare

I'd have Dutch courage too, if ‘d just consumed 2 bottles of malt whiskey. The trouble with such "confidence" is, it dissipates swiftly after the effects of the booze has worn off, as it will when the Democrats wake up from their booze induced fake high .
