DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Following the assassination of a Hamas operative, Dubai police will attempt to identify Israelis traveling on foreign passports by assessing their physical features and manner of speaking upon arrival, the police chief said Monday.
Lt. Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim said travelers suspected of being Israeli will not be allowed into the Gulf country even if they arrive with alternative passports. The Emirates will "deny entry to anyone suspected of having Israeli citizenship," Tamim said.
The move follows the killing of a senior Hamas operative in Dubai, blamed by the Emirates authorities on Israel's Mossad spy agency.
Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found dead in a Dubai hotel room Jan. 20. The authorities have identified at least 26 suspects of the alleged hit squad that traveled to Dubai on fake identities and forged European and Australian passports to kill al-Mabhouh.
At least 15 of the suspected killers share names with Israeli citizens, further fueling suspicions the Mossad was behind the hit.

Why not just ask religion as other countries in the region do, and refuse to admit Jews. Given the fact that the only arrests made thus far have been palestinians, I wonder if Dubai will profile them.

We should conclude by this action that Dubai fully and completely supports Hamas and its goals of destroying Israel and killing Jews. This is the only reason why they would put so much effort into going after heroes who killed a known, unrepentant and active terrorist.

That’s kind of funny since many Israelis look Middle Eastern just like their Arab neighbors. Many actually came from Arab/Persian lands.
I don’t believe Israelis are allowed in the UAE other than under special circumstances, business and such, so essentially they’re profiling Jews with non-Israeli passports for exclusion. Why not just ask religion like other Arab nations do.
