Rat out a tax cheat, collect a reward

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- If you knew coworkers, former bosses or exes who cheated on their taxes, would you turn them in? The Internal Revenue Service can make it worth your while.

As tax season nears, we all want to get as much money back from the IRS as possible. And while taking advantage of this year's new tax breaks will put some extra money in your pocket, snitching on a tax cheat could make you rich.

In a recent poll from the IRS Oversight Board, 13% of those surveyed think cheating is acceptable, up from 9% in 2008. As the recession puts the squeeze on household finances, the lure of fudging on a tax return is even greater.

Then I point out Rangel and Geithner...how much money are they going to pay me for pointing out these tax cheats?

This seems an awful lot like the old soviet program of ratting out neighbors who spoke out against the system. I guess marxists are marxists everywhere.

I wouldn’t tell jack crap about anyone or anything......no, not even the time of day.
When they clean up their own house (Tiny Timmy Turbo, Rangle, etc.etc.) I might reconsider. Otherwise, if you can beat em out of a dime, more power to ya.

“So far, the new incentives have been effective. The IRS has received tips from about 476 informants identifying 1,246 taxpayers in fiscal year 2008, the first full year the program was implemented.”

This does not sound like very much when you also see that 13% of the population now think that evading taxes is ok. Moreover, the fact that this number has gone up from 9% (about a 40% increase) seems like the more interesting fact. The rate of evasion could exceed the enforcement efforts as a wave of civil disobedience is triggered by tax increases.

One thing about commies, they don’t have any new tricks in their bags. Just slightly new labels for the same old tricks.

Maybe that will be one of the goals of OFA and Amerikorps will be. But it seems that it will be pretty hard for 0bamabots to infiltrate the private sector and small business. If ever there was a clash of cultures...

It looks like to me that if one rats on a tax cheat it would red flag the tattle tail of a possible tax cheat and give the IRS reason to audit the tattler too. I do not see a win situation for anyone...getting in bed with the IRS is a lot like sleeping unprotected with a prostitute, one never knows what one is going to bring home.

I turned in my former son-in-law once, I didn’t get any money out of it, I did it for the pure enjoyment and I requested the I.R.S. to tell him who ratted him out. (I doubt that they did).

That, of course, is one of the more personal usages of a tyrannical and oppressive governmental effort to collect taxes under distraint. It lets the petty tyrants among us to act out as the “big boys” by turning in our fellow man to unrestrained efforts to ruin any “cheat” so identified.

The Founding Fathers of our nation designed a tax systems for the federal government which DENIED them the tyrannical power to collect taxes from individuals, personally and using distrain/force.

Now, the Progressives and their dupes continue the subversion of the constitution instituted in 1943 to defeat NAZISM: the “Voluntary” Individual Income Tax and Withholding.

The only relief from this tyranny which now mimics fascism, is a National Sales Tax and, or an assessment by state and census ...

The worst example of the dictatorial income tax are those citizens who use it to “get even” like some cave-man ancestor with a grudge against their fellow cave dweller(s) ... not that those of neolithic inclinations should be discrimated against as other than disadvantaged idiots, anyway ...
