the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that the New York Democrat, who is married with two children, made unwanted advances toward a junior male staffer.

I'm surprised the Democrats would think there's a problem with that.

Foley was used over and over and over and over again by the MSM to tear down the GOP. This will be over in a day or 2.

Massa is now the 15th House Democrat to announce retirement plans, with 11 of them leaving districts that Republicans are aggressively contesting. House Republicans face 19 retirements, but most of their departing members hail from safe seats.

Massa’s departure also adds to the woes of New York Democrats, Gov. David Paterson, , and Rangel.

Former Rep. John “Randy” Kuhl, whom Massa beat by 2 percentage points in 2008, is exploring the possibility of running for his old seat

This is the Dems’ Mark Foley, and the media seems intent on letting him hide behind his “cancer” cover story, which is total bullshit. He is resigning because he is a sicko perv.

Didn’t he originally vote no on the health bill? Just asking.

I sure hope this gets as much attention as the Larry Craig story.

I don't know. I don't follow the NY delegation very closely. It's hard enough keeping up with Texas politicians.

This is a little worse. First, it should be noted that Congressmen are not employees. The leadership has no power to do anything except through the ethics committee.

Hastert addressed the allegations when presented with them, and I don’t think there was ever a formal complaint.

Hoyer is dismissive here and seems to claim that he didn’t do anything about the allegations when they were made. That is a no-no.

I originally thought it might have been an oversensitive staffer, too, but from the top of the story, Massa is said to have “made unwanted advances toward a junior male staffer.”

Oh, and Massa was on Wesley Clark’s staff.

Take that any way you like.

Like Larry Craig's wide stance there is a lot to be said. BTW, I don't support Massa or Craig, I'm just cynical especially when it come to the media.
