As soon as I saw "Philadelphia" I knew Hanks was headed for trouble.

He should have stuck to the goofy movies like "The Money Pit" and "Splash".

I think he (and we) would be a lot happier with him not taking himself so seriously.

You are so right! “Big” was his last sane moment, then he became the serious ac-tor. What a schmuck! His best moments as an actor were as Kip Wilson in “Bosom Buddies.” The moment he took himself seriously, it was all over. I just can’t stand him or his overrated movies. And he always has that look on his face in his movies (and now in life, I guess, judging from the Time cover) like he hasn’t taken a dump in 6 months.
