Chileans reject post-quake looters, speculators

The police came with bullhorns to impoverished neighborhoods near the epicenter of Chile's devastating earthquake, warning looters to return what they stole or face police raids.

And so they did, depositing everything from mattresses to refrigerators and flat-screen TVs. It took 35 truckloads to recover it all. Together with looted merchandise recovered by police, the material is worth nearly $2 million, officers said.

Thats what the New Orleans Police and the LA Police should have done went through neighborhoods after and asked the looters to please bring the stuff they stole back, yeah that would work.

The problem with doing this here is that the police here would be accused of racism.

Remarkable. Of course in the US, ambulance chasers would be suing merchants for the hernias suffered by their thief clients while carrying off big screen TVs!

This is why we should consider charity for Chile instead of Haiti. Chile is civilized, and can be rebuilt to full membership in civilization in a few years. Haiti has never been civilized, and no amount of new infrastructure can change that in a single generation, if not decades.

Another example of better living without the preferred citizenship of precious ‘diversity’.
