My one son was in the Air Force...the other in the Marines..so I am sensitive about that which happens on our troops bases. I have not heard more than the military has increased the security at the bases across the states and actually worldwide...but still I have concerns they are like sitting ducks now because everyone now knows our guys are unarmed on the inside ...since the Ft Hood attack, all the news and investigations etc. letting that be known.

Thanks for your diligence in following this story as it develops. Obviously with the internet, and now Twitter, we can get all sorts of information fast - and third and fourth hand. Like playing “telephone” with a bunch of 4th graders. And throw in the boy that just says something wrong just to throw everyone off!

I just thought it was funny how we were referencing that AR15 thread, and they were referencing this thread (perhaps post #14?). Glad this event turned out okay. Hopefully it was not a real threat.

Well, breaking news is always like that — the event can change from something completely different than the originating incident description.

It will be interesting to hear if the person that was arrested was a real threat, or someone not following the rules with his weapon. OTOH, perhaps in some of these cases it is best not to make the results public knowledge for security reasons.

Glendale Police Sgt. Karen Gerardo says 16-year-old Jared Leyva-Coconi from Phoenix was killed, and 19-year-old Gabriel Aguilera of Glendale remains hospitalized from injuries sustained in the crash.

Aguilera will be charged with vehicle theft, felony flight, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and murder.”

Thank you...I am very proud of them.

You know when you put these links together it really does show there is a concentrated effort against our troops on the home front...and that's just what we do know let alone what we don't. Also those overseas...mind boggling.

SNIPPET: “Newschannel 6 has confirmed that police apprehended a man carrying a shotgun on Sheppard Air Force Base. The call came out just after 9PM last night. It happened outside a dormitory.

There were no shots fired or hostages taken, he said. All airmen have been accounted for.”

Do you have this also with the airplane hitting the IRS building “attack” and the Harvard professor thing and the other thing - sorry can’t keep up with them all.

But it would be great to see your post 123 plus a listing of these other “bizarre” attacks - all in one post listing them all.

I find this to be strangely sad and unique to the United States.

Shouldn't all the people on one of our military bases be armed all the time? You'd think we might have learned something from the Fort Hood tragedy. It seems we've only "learned" how to jam our heads deeper in the sand. We need to start studying Israeli security protocols.

Yeah...Luke, Redstone, Nellis, Pentagon, now this. I’m losing count.

The incident at Luke AFB was an ignoramus car thief who thought he was evading the local cops.

They aren’t releasing the airman’s motive and intent.
They aren’t releasing the airman’s identity.
They are saying he’s mentally ill.

That’s been the government response for Muslim attacks since 9/11. This ‘coincidentally’ happened mere hours after Gadahn’s video lauding Soldier of Allah nidal hassan and calls for these type of attacks.
