Machete-wielding rioters kill 200 in Nigeria (Suspicion falls on Muslim group...)

JOS, Nigeria - The killers showed no mercy: They didn't spare women and children, or even a 4-day-old baby, from their machetes. On Monday, women wailed in the streets as a dump truck carried dozens of bodies past burned-out homes toward a mass grave.

Rubber-gloved workers pulled ever-smaller bodies from the dump truck and tossed them into the mass grave. A crowd began singing a hymn with the refrain, "Jesus said I am the way to heaven." As the grave filled, the grieving crowd sang: "Jesus, show me the way."

At least 200 people, most of them Christians, were slaughtered on Sunday, according to residents, aid groups and journalists. The local government gave a figure more than twice that amount, but offered no casualty list or other information to substantiate it.

An Associated Press reporter counted 61 corpses, 32 of them children, being buried in the mass grave in the village of Dogo Nahawa on Monday. Other victims were being buried elsewhere.

The violence in three mostly Christian villages on Sunday appeared to be reprisal attacks following the January unrest in Jos — when some 300 people, most of them Muslims, were killed, Red Cross spokesman Robin Waubo said. State officials did not comment on the cause of the latest attacks...

On Sunday, the bodies of children tangled with each other in a local morgue, including a diaper-clad toddler. Another young victim appeared to have been scalped, while others had severed hands and feet. One woman victim in the morgue appeared to have been stripped below the waist, but later covered by a strip of black cloth....

As God is my witness, I will not permit this to happen to me or my family. I will not go down without a fight, magazines empty and overpowered.

One can easily look back and find other battles in Jos (an acronym of “Jesus Our Saviour”).

In 2008 for instance the killing began when Muslims started attacking Christians on charges of vote-tampering. Hundreds died that time too.

The Muslims can’t stand the fact that the Christians are taking back what used to be a predominately Muslim country.

The link in the MSNBC article to the previous incident does not support the Red Cross spokesman's contention that 300 mostly muslim people were killed.

The linked article says 200 died in fighting between the Christians and muslims that started when the muslims burned down a church.

I’d be pretty upset If I were of African desent, Blacks getting slaughtered in Africa and Black babies getting killed at abortion clinics here. I’m not insinuating a connection but still...

I am reminded of a conversation I had with my mother as a child of about 10. (I’ve mentioned this before on FR, but it’s even more shocking recently) She mentioned that Christians would be persecuted all over the world. This made no sense to me! Christmas was a widely celebrated holiday, I couldn’t even fathom people being killed just for being a Christian.

She said then, “I don’t know how or why, but it will happen. It was written.” Kind of strange to be so sad to actually witness a validation of faith. Sad it has to be this way for it to be validated.

Oh, and I would take several down with me if some loony mooslum came at me with a machete. At the LEAST.

Yeah, I figured the Red Cross spokesperson’s rendering of the situation wasn’t quite accurate. Sure it was a Red Crescent spokesperson?

Answer is simple ; Hand out Uzi’’s to all the Nigerian Christians , one per family , with several 1000 rounds and plenty of clips .
When the ‘muslim herders’ attack , that’s it for the ‘herders’

I'd suggest

Kalashnikovs: one per adult.

Magazines: 5 per adult Ammunition: 1000rds per adult

In this PC infested world, we will have to witness the obliteration of on of our major urban areas before people wake up again and realize the islamofascists want to actually do us harm. Hope is not a sound foreign policy!

I’ve noted that several Islam gathering places (mosques and/or community centers) are near schools....

No one seems alarmed. Sad.
