Senators push plan to require all U.S. citizens to carry worker ID cards

WASHINGTON, D.C. - There's more talk on Capitol Hill about requiring all U.S. citizens to carry a worker ID card before getting a job. It's part of a major overhaul of immigration policy, and the plan could go before President Obama as soon as this week.

All U.S. citizens would be required to carry an ID cards according to this plan. It's meant to keep companies from hiring illegal immigrants. No matter where you apply for a job, under the plan, you would have to have a card carrying bio-metric information on a microchip. It's like your fingerpints, or a scan of the veins in your hands.

The ID cards would basically prove you are who you say you are, and that you are a legal citizen of the United States. The program is being pushed in the U.S. Senate by Democrat Chuck Schumer (D- New York), and Republican Lindsay Graham (R- South Carolina).

Unlike the optional E-verify system that some companies use, this would be mandatory for all companies to use.

It's drawing some criticism from privacy advocates, who say this moving toward a national ID card, giving the government too much power to track you. Sen. Graham says it's simply a way to keep companies and employees honest.

"What I want to make sure is when an employer is presented with a social security card, you can easily verify that it is real and genuine and the person presenting the card is who they say they are. If we will do that one thing, it will make it very hard to hire illegals," said Sen. Graham.

Well, don’t we carry one already? It’s called a SS card. It is not our problem, but the govts, that so many illegals get them by stealing identities. They are the ones doing nothing to stop that.

Social security cards are worthless pieces of junk. They’re extremely easy to forge.

How that card serves as an ID is beyond me, especially if they’re not linked up to a national database that is routinely updated.

Not loving this idea one bit. If we continue on our current trajectory, we will have less freedom than Russia. I guess that’s irony.

That must be the number on Obummer’s birth certificate - that’s the reason for the suppression!

I will not do it. I will just not be a “worker” anymore. Gonna have to start the process to get “off the grid”.

I thought that was what the social security card morphed into. How about a voter ID card so only US Citizens can vote?

Vote? Haven't you heard that Obama will be Emperor for life. He just needs an up or down vote. Elections simply chew up much needed tax dollars, and we all know that Americans are fed up with excessive gov't spending.

Throw down a safety card on them since they can’t read the evacuation instructions or the lifeboat operating instructions.

I know some companies are banning them from the rigs if they can’t speak or read English.

Isn’t this something to stop that? If there’s an amnesty rider that’s one thing but all this does is add teeth whatever verification requirments exist.

Requiring nothing more than a nine digit number is useless. How could that ever be enforced in any meaningful way?

All U.S. citizens would be required to carry an ID cards according to this plan.

Then the left wing spawns of Satan will "unexpectedly" start losing or stealing cards. Because the system will then be "too big to fail", people will be required to get the chips implanted:
"For their own good."
"For their own safety."
"For the sake of the children."
Presto. Every American will be branded. The totalitarian government could then track everyone, anywhere at any time. There will be no escape.
Man will have merged with the government machine.

Nothing..NOTHING, will do more to destroy the middle class.
And destroyed it must be, for the elites to control the power.

That's exactly what it says in Rules For Radicals by Saul Alinski. All the political voting power, labor, and buying power is in the middle class. If the left can control the middle class, it's ability to continue it's reign of terror would be infinite.

I was thinking along the same lines.

A National ID card with a chip. On that chip they could put:

your medical records, since we now have a national database for that

your work history

your earnings records

your bank records

....Yeah, this is beyond scary stuff. And the left freaked out over voter ID requirements and they will all go along with this? It doesn’t make any sense what-so-ever.
