My Fishing Rod? Out of My Cold Dead Fingers! (Vanity)
TCH | March 11, 2010 | TCH

Posted on 03/10/2010 10:55:27 PM PST by TCH

The statists now consider whether Americans shall be allowed recreational fishing! Out of my cold dead fingers will they take my rod and reel! They prepare to forge yet another link in the ever-lengthening chain that arrests our freedoms. They make claim on our water, our food, our ability to farm, ranch, fish… our travel, our health, and the very air we breathe! So, on queue, an acquaintance e-mailed a “patriotic” You-Tube video, directed at our “leaders,” and about “WE the People.”

Yes, that video is a great piece of drama—and great propaganda. But how deep goes our resolve in keeping this unique “freedom” to which we Americans profess such precious affection? I hear much talk of “resistance,” at TEA parties, on the radio, in the blogosphere. However, talk is all I hear. You contend “passive resistance.” How tight must our fetters bind until we do more than “passively” resist these chains? I am sure our passivity truly impresses our mocking masters. I am certain they are even now quaking in their patent leather loafers and Armani suits, imagining what we might do this next election. We may vote them out! Oh my! Let us make room for the next batch of clones, now preparing their populist pitches for the perennial fleecing of the gullible.

Enough of this putrid passivity! When I see my fellow countrymen march rank and file, ready and willing to give that last full measure, so to arrest the advance of that treasonous cabal, whom cares of our individual rights no more than it recognizes the restraints imposed upon it by our Constitution, THEN I will be inspired. THEN will I think the words of popular dissonance rest upon the hard rock of patriotic substance, rather than the creaking stage of political theatre.

When I see my fellow countrymen willing to sacrifice themselves without compromise, THEN I shall be impressed. When the next “March on Washington” is composed of one million WELL-ARMED AMERICANS, ready to defend their rights, THEN I will take their words seriously. When I see that my fellow countrymen are committed to defend freedom to the death, without hesitation or regret, THEN I will applaud their “patriotism.” Until the day arrives, where upon American men show themselves something more than eunuchs, all correspondence designed to inspire lofty feelings of patriotic fervor shall affect nothing but disgusted “ho-hums.” Words without consequence are words unheeded. Mere WORDS shall never impress a tyrant determined to control every aspect of your life.

WORDS will never repel a renegade government that has shown it self capable and resolved to destroy whomever and whatever stands in the way of its plans. So, you signed a petition? You demonstrated in a peaceful protest? Well bully for you! Your effort falls flat, dying on the floor, ironic as a Greek Tragedy, because those to whom you speak desire not to serve, but rather they demand your obedience. Oh glorious passive patriots! Pray master loosens your chain a link!

Where are the men, comporting themselves to that “well-regulated militia” of the same caliber as our founders, standing shoulder to shoulder in a determined defiance? I look upon “patriotic theatre” as nothing more than the bluster of feeble and effeminate equivocators, who lacking moral courage and firm conviction, possess nothing, but prove their souls timid and too polluted with materialistic covetousness to bother standing in the breech when history calls them to duty.

America’s founding fathers would have, months ago, forcibly cast these tyrants down a sewer. Our ancestors dispensed a swift and terrible vengeance against such oppressors, having little care of the personal consequence. Until “We the people” demonstrate our resolve to exact that same measure of retribution upon the reprobate thugs now occupying Washington; Until we display the determination to end this reign of oligarchic despotism—and do so in the spirit of our founders, then self-anointed masters will continue laughing us to scorn—and we shall deserve every drop of oppression they prepare for us, down to the last bitter dreg. This American is willing to give his life for freedom ... Are you?

Control the food you control the people.

Just my .02, I live in Alaska and its prohibitively expensive for a lot of people to buy all their food, we call it subsistence, me I do live where food is affordable, but when fuel gets too expensive and then because most foods are shipped up here the prices will go up I will do more fishing, I will do more hunting, we have more than enough “free range” moose up here.

There are many fishing villages that survive through the winter solely on fishing.

Whatever law Obama tries to start in order START riots Alaska will ignore them. They can hire more Federal Revenuers, but the people will join together to work around them.

“Whatever law Obama tries to start in order START riots Alaska will ignore them. They can hire more Federal Revenuers, but the people will join together to work around them.”

There is the problem. The time has come to stop “ignoring” and “working around” ... We are at a crossroads. We had better learn fast that the best way to overcome this obstacle is not by ignoring it, or working around it; but rather to bulldoze our path right through and over it... to crush it and break it into a thousand pieces, much the same way as went Humpty Dumpty. We must make certain that these tyrants will never be able to put their edifice back together again.

You have the right to vote Democrat. Anything else you do, can and will be held against you in a court of law.

Hopefully people will vote correctly for 2012.
As a nation we truly bobbled the 2008 election.

You are so right. I live subsistence. Last summer people ignored the salmon restrictions and set their nets. A few didn't and felt like fools later. They couldn't prosecute anybody and they didn't even try. The Indians never have followed any fed regs, just do as they have always done.

People won't starve, and when laws become ridiculous, people ignore them. The govt can't ever allow this to occur or it gets out of hand and everybody realizes the king has no clothes; which is what will happen; sooner the better.

They had all kinds of problems up here many years back with the fed park people. One guy had to be escorted out of the community under state police protection, death threats. Since then all the park rangers have been quite decent; work with the locals, create jobs in a bush community lacking economic activity. Actually they bend the rules to get along with the locals and they fight with their bosses in fairbanks in support of the locals. But rest assured if violence occurs, heads role within the park service, not in the local community.

The feds wanted to build a big park visitors center in our community, the locals went nuts and they couldn't process the grant without local positive input and support; big plans went nowheres. So I was at a game dinner a few weeks back out Indian Village. Park guy preached how he wanted to work with locals, and only do what they wished, ha ha. Then started talking about future plans that would benefit community. He's not going to get anywheres, no more than 2 years back. Different park guy, same agenda.

But I will say, these park people are honestly pretty decent guys. They don't want a big blow up and they never go after any of the law breakers that populate rural Alaska. They really want to get along; it's their bosses in Fairbanks who try to push their will and so far not really getting anywheres.

People will ignore any fed regs nx summer and in Alaska fed law has been ignored for so long; it will be tough for them to try and have their way with any of the locals. no joke. All kinds of freedom out here along the Yukon.

So, have YOU orginized that million well armed man march yet? There is still a (very, extremely) thin chance that this country can be saved with the next election.

I feel for you, I’m down here in the Valley, spoiled rotten with our Walmart and all. What do you think about having the road built to Nome? Should create a ton of jobs, as long as they hire in state you know.

I just finished restoring a 30’ bowpicker and come this summer I’m heading offshore for as much fish I can legally bring home, of course I’ll have to build a walk-in freezer and a smokehouse, my wife never took to moose, I love it when I add some fat for sausages or burgers.

I hear the put the flag up the other day, think it will be a late breakup? I’m thinking we might have a quick sudden thaw like we used to have years ago. We just picked up about 8” of new snow down here, it was pretty warm a couple of weeks ago.

Here is hoping the Kings and Reds come back this year, my fingers are crossed.

This is just more of his deliberate “chaos”. He won’t do this, but it is just an announcement to cause chaos. Just like his publication of the torture pics, KSM NYC trial, and other sh!t that he announces and later cancels. that’s his game. On the other hand, I hope that he really does outlaw fishing. Please, Barry, outlaw fishing!

Ya know, I had a neighbor when we lived in Sutton, homesteaded his place in 1942. He was awful sharp. I once asked him what hadn't happened that he thought would. He said after WWII everybody figured there would be a railroad to nome in 5 years. Never happened and he always said it never will. Course if it did, there would be dramatic economic development but many of the locals & Indians don't want their life to change either.

I only ever have a few kings in freezer and make some dry fish & strips. We usually put up alot of chums. Quite a few of locals dry 4-5 thousand chums for their dogteams. Actually, I'm about salmon 'd out . We concentrate on lings and get a bunch of caribou and a moose if lucky. Life is pretty cheap living in bush Ak; nowhere to spend money.

"Whats next, ban NASCAR? "

His only experience is as a community agitator. His mentality, per Saul Alinsky, is to cause maximum chaos. He announces wild, radical plans, most of which he won't implement, just to stir the pot. But he is destroying all of our normal foreign relations, such as with England (refusing the gift bust of Churchill), completely abandoning Israel, supporting the palestinians, as you would expect from a muslim president. HE IS A DOMESTIC ENEMY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Nice - and in itself - wordy. So, when the men storm the hill, you’ll be right there behind them? Or, are leading an or prepping actual charge that we should know about? I presume that your contempt of passivity means that you live off the grid of paying state and fed taxes. That’s the first necessary active stance, IMO. If so, have you announced that, yet?

Can you start your vanities with an attributing link? Some of us might not have not read the article that started this (I.e. Statists and fishing.)
