Will Polka Music, Conjunto, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Ramones, Armadillo World Headquarters, SXSW be mentioned? /S

But unless there's at least one chapter devoted to Bob Wills (Still the King), the TSBOE may just need to ask for a rewrite of the textbooks. :-)

That is why those educational boards are so crucial!

My thanks to those who have done the lifting on this. Most inspiring. Taking education back from the idiotnological left is like trying to level a mountain, but this is encouraging — like a few large boulders rolling down the slope.

By late Thursday night, three other Democrats seemed to sense their futility and left, leaving Republicans to easily push through amendments heralding "American exceptionalism" and the U.S. free enterprise system, suggesting it thrives best absent excessive government intervention.

Thank G-d!
This proves what most of us knew. Liberals are cowardice bullies who, when challenged, will back down. We have to stand up to them before they completely turn us into a third world country. Our founding fathers were exceptional men who created a great country. No more tearing them down.

I just love Texas. Must visit one day. “sigh”

Just do it. Who knows, you might even decide to stay.

Would it be possible for conservatives to infiltrate the NEA?

Yes. Send reinforcements.

I thought the correct term was Representative Republic.
Am I wrong?

>>>Taking out Jefferson is just not acceptable. He wrote the Declaration of Independence, for crying out loud!

Reading the linked article I don’t see Jefferson mentioned. Maybe that’s in another story but not this one. If Jefferson is excluded you are perfectly correct, but your information may be misleading.

I’d have agreed with the suggestion that the sacrifice of the Mexicans who also died defending the Alamo be recognized. Pending more details though I don’t see much to cause such anguish in the agenda approved. We are a Constitutional Republic. Just the way it is. And the Bill of Rights should get a lot more time in class.

I’m just relieved they aren’t saying the earth is 6000 years old.

The board's seven social conservatives, joined by Geraldine “Tincy” Miller, R-Dallas, considered some of the hip hop lyrics offensive and voted to eliminate hip hop as an option for students to consider.

Excellent!

This is why local elections are so important in taking back the education system for conservatism and real American values. It is possible to turn things around - they’ve just demonstrated it in Texas.

What is noticeably missing from this article is all of the insane inclusions the Dems had suggested a couple weeks ago. I don't have the link but it is obvious that the AP didn't want to mention the multitude of valid and deserving historical events that the libs wanted to dump, let alone the insane laundry list of items they wanted included.

Texas is just putting the facts back in.

My daughter works in the Virginia school system and she was reluctant to talk to co-workers about what is happening to America.

After she attended the Tax Day TEA Party in DC she found out that three others in her school had attended too.

I worked with college history professors and they have to act PC at work but for the most part they have conservative ideas but cannot speak out for fear of losing their jobs.

Slowly but surely we will roll back this progressive curriculum.
