US House Democrat says still short on health votes
Reuters ^ | 3/14/10 | John Whitesides

White House officials on Sunday confidently predicted quick final passage of healthcare reform but a top Democratic vote-counter said the party still needs to line up more support in the House of Representatives.

With President Barack Obama's sweeping healthcare overhaul headed for a final House vote this week, House Democratic Whip James Clyburn said Democrats were short for now of the 216 votes needed but he was confident they could find them.

From hugh hewitt.com

You can start here http://www.capitolconnect.com/freeourhealthcarenow/ by sending an e-mail to your Congressman -which will be identified by the use of your zip code- and the same e-mail will be personalized and sent to all 58 Blue Dog Democrats. As Mike Pence said on my show yesterday as he reviewed the battle against Obamacare -transcript here- the most effective contact is with your own Congressman or a member of your state’s congressional delegation.

After that effort, please hone in on these two new targets, identified by Jay Cost’s reporting: New York’s Tim Bishop (NY-1) and Arizona’s Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8).

Bishop is being challenged by Chris Cox, Richard Nixon’s grandson and a formidable campaigner and fundraiser. Please consider a $25 or $50 contribution to Chris via his website, and then call or e-mail Bishop and let him know you contributed to Cox and there’s more where that came from if Bishop votes for Obamacare. Bishop’s contact info:

D.C. Office: Phone:
Fax: (202) 225-3143
Corum Office: (631) 696-6500
Southhampton Office: (631) 259-8450
Email

Giffords represents the Tucson area has drawn many primary opponents, but the frontrunner is probably former state senator and Army officer Jonathan Paton. Again, if you can spare $25 or $50 to Paton’s campaign, follow up that contribution with a call to Giffords’ offices with the same message as above: There’s more where that came from if you vote for Obamacare.

Gifford’s contact info:

D.C. Office: Phone: (202) 225-2542
Fax: (202) 225-0378
Tucson Office: Phone: (520) 881-3588
Sierra Vista Office: Phone: (520) 459-3115
E-mail

Wait, there’s more.

Colorado’s 4rth Congressional District should be a Republican seat and my friend Tom Lucero is running to take the seat back from Betsy Markey. Please donate to Tom and then let Markey know you don’t live in her district but that you will be sending more support to Lucero if she votes for Obamacare. Markey’s contact info:

D.C. Office: Phone: 202.225.4676
Fax: 202.225.5870
Fort Collins Office: 970.221.7110
Greeley Office: 970.351.6007
Lamar Office: 719.931.4003
Sterling Office: 970.522.0203
E-mail
And that brings us to the Buckeyes. At least five of Ohio’s Democrats are on the fence and may vote against the bill. Please call them all. Zach Space especially has been swamped by calls and I urge you to continue to contact him again and again, and to find everyone you know who lives in his district or Ohio to do the same. Then repeat for Charlie Wilson and the others:

Rep. Zack Space - Ohio’s 18th District

Confident they could find the votes, or confident they could BUY the votes?

We should be calling our Reps if they’re voting no and thanking them for caring what their constituents think.

I can’t do that because Patrick Murphy just asks Nancy what she needs and works from there. But, if I had a good Rep, I’d let him know.

Confident that they can change the meaning of vote and the method of counting votes. It’s all a matter of who makes the rules.

Of course the problem is you cannot trust ANYTHING a democrat says, whether it be good news or bad.

Maybe they’ll try a self-executing rule that gives voting rights to the DC representative. oh hell, since they are making it up, maybe they’ll just rule that all the territories should have voting representatives. Or that all democratic representatives can vote twice.

Or maybe they have more left-wing terrorists they are counting on to “eliminate” some of the yes votes.

Ok, here’s the deal.

The Rats have seen the writing on the wall. They are preparing a Masada like defense and will then use the loss to turn the tidal wave they see coming. It will be Republicans that destroyed the chance for Amerika to rise and once again achieve greatness yada yada yada

Our paper headlined today that Rick Boucher D SW VA will not vote for the healthcare bill.

He is a dyed in the wool UVA liberal Ivy League wannabe who fears for his political life. When Nancy says jump he asks with oozing respect”yes mam, may I know how high”

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

Congressional Dems on Twitter

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.
At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!
