CBO: Health Bill Would Force Families to Buy Insurance Costing a Minimum of $12,000 Per Year

(CNSNews.com) – If Congress passes the Senate health-care plan, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, American families will be required by federal law to buy a federally approved health insurance plan that will cost a minimum of $12,000 per year--and, on average, will cost $15,000 per year -- whether their employer or the government helps them with the premium or not.

Beginning in 2014, the Senate plan would require all individuals to buy health insurance. Anyone who does not obtain insurance through an employer would be forced to buy it out of their own pocket. Families of four that make up to 400 percent of poverty level--currently $88,200 per year--would receive a subsidy from the government to help pay for their premiums. That subsidy would attenuate as their income increased and would disappear when their income reached the 400 percent of poverty level.

I’m curious about how they expect these families who only make $1000 a month to pay $1000 a month in Goobermint extortion.

They know most people will not be able to pay. The 15,000 new IRS agents will simply put liens on their property. The liens will continue to grow until folks either move, sell, or die. Then the federal government will own the homes.

The true nature of Obama Care is becoming clear.

My thought exactly! (Among things, some which I cannot adequately express without getting myself in trouble with my Pastor.)

Step 1, this bill. Step 2, welfare for those who cannot afford insurance. Step 3, Only certain ailments will be treatable by law because demand now far outstrips supply when Doctors quit. Step 4, Only certain aged groups will be treatable to further solve supply--demand problem. Step 5, Government regulates what you can eat and other lifestyle issues to solve supply--demand problem. Step 6, abortions are mandated unless you pay a child tax to cover their future health care costs. Step 7, Dr. Pay limited by law. Step 8, Insurance companies go belly up causing Single Payer Option to be put in place.

The Democrats keep this up and there will be a bloodbath on November 2, 2010 as Democrats (and RINO's!) will be voted out of office en masse over a bill that will cost the average American family US$12,000 to US$15,000 per year in premiums and could end up costing WAY over US$1 trillion in cost. No thanks!

How the Hell can people buy health insurance if there aren’t any jobs?

I think that you will see one of the most violent revolutions in recent times before that happens.

We have a high-deductible plan wherein we pay like $450/mo and when we reach $6500 we get full coverage. Now we would have to pay an extra $600/mo to get LESS coverage (”Bronze” = 60% coverage = $12,500/yr)??? Absolutely ridiculous! No way are we going to comply...but of course the insurance companies offering such plans will be driven out of business or forced to cancel the plans.

Don’t worry, the govt. will accept healthy organs as a form of payment.

And if you don’t have property, they’ll take payment in “donated” organs.

"FICA: 88,200 x 7.65% = 6747 Federal Income Tax: 68,200 x 25% (figuring deductions of 20K) = 17,050 State Income Tax in a “cheap” state: 68,200 x 5% = 3,410 Obamacare premium for family: 15,000 Total burden on a middle class family: 42,207

Leaving $3,833 per month to pay the mortgage, buy the groceries, save for retirement, save for college, pay the utilities, buy clothing for the kids, buy a car, etc.

Middle class livin’ large in Obamaland."

Not to mention State Income Tax, Property Tax, Sales Tax, Car Tax (registration) and whatever else they think up.

Isn't that nice? Just where is "the government" going to get the money for this subsidy?

Every time I see this pic of everyone laughing uproariously, I focus on Kennedy--who was NOT laughing, and whose contemptuous eyes seemed to be slying saying "You stupid RINO, you are slitting your own throat with this law". Romney is such a greasy douchebag.

Property, healthy organs... oh and don’t forget Community Service. Remember all the time and effort Obummer and his stooges spent on promoting service. Telling us how great it is to work for free. They might let you work off your Health Care debt.

Let me see if I got this right...in a year or so, SOMEBODY is going to figure out a way to refuse to let the IRS take their money and force them to pay for health care.

I think we have 4 years, until 2014.

What about expats living in the Philippines? Their house may be paid for and a family can live on $1k per month easily. $1k per month for insurance would increase their cost of living 100%.
