The SCOTUS was the final say in that they backed the SCOF into a corner. There was no where to go. Had the SCOTUS not taken the case it would not have ended. They ended it with their ruling. Florida did not end it. Even if it was remanded back to them doesn't mean it ended with the SCOF; it was dead on arrival. They were wrong and were struck down by the SCOTUS.

Update (Ed): When Politico went live with this article, I had confirmed with two people I know on the Hill that they had seen this being passed around. Did it come from Democrats, or from Republicans? I can’t answer that, but I did confirm with two sources that it exists.

When it was struck down, that reinstated Sauls’ ruling, leaving it as the last one standing. Yes, I see what you are saying. SCOTUS had the final say, but the ruling that prevailed (because SCOTUS reversed its reversal) was Sauls’.

I believe we should agree to disagree here rather than keep this discussion going. Without SCOTUS, it would have been bad. Without Sauls, it would have been worse as SCOTUS would have had nothing to “roll back” to.

Something interesting to share. I rec'd an e-mail from Plouffe urging voters in Congressman Hall's District to call and urge him to vote yes on this bill. E-mail says they need 124 voters to call before the end of today. Since Hall has been in the yes column I questioned why the urgency.

Naturally I called Hall with the opposite message and was told he's reading the bill and hasn't committed. So that yes isn't set in stone I learned. When Rush said there are at least 40 who haven't committed I'm inclined to believe him.

His assistant said he will pass the information shared by Rush (a vote for reconciliation is a VOTE FOR THE SENATE BILL which will become law prior to the proposed fixes) to be sure he's aware what he's voting for. Perhaps it's all BS but he listened and said he will pass it on!
