The only thing the pubs may be able to stop in the Senate is the reconciliation bill, not the deathcare bill itself. The strategery is for THAT fact to be enough motivation to get House rats to vote no on the senate deathcare bill, but it won’t. The reason I say that is because the media will just blame that on the pubs - it’s their fault the bill is so bad because they stopped the reconciliation - omitting the fact that it was the rats who passed the thing in the first place. Meanwhile, they’ll talk about how wonderful the bill is and the dumbasses won’t know the difference because it won’t kick in for years, and the 2010 election won’t be all that great.
How’s that for pessimism? Or is it realism?
I have 2 year old toddlers, cut me a *little* slack, LOL. ;-)
The House doesn’t care to fix anything. Since when do the Democrats get upset about bribes and earmarks?
Good grief. It’s the House of Representatives. Two-year terms. Got it?
Yes, Hastings is up for re-election this year. He’s in the House. Their terms are two years. They all run every two years. All 435 of them. Those are the people the pubs have been talking about for months now about them losing in their districts come November, as in “congressional” districts, if the vote for zero’s deathcare. Sorry if I seem exasperated with you, but if the FR membership doesn’t know these things, what does that say about Joe Lunchbucket out there who doesn’t even pay attention to this stuff? Scary.
Hastings will be re-elected. He’s from an almost all-black, heavy far-left rat district in FL. He used to be a federal judge (Carter appointee) and was only the sixth federal judge to ever be impeached. He was convicted of corruption and bribe-taking. This was in the late ‘80s and it was quite a large bribery/corruption case - well into six figures. When he was impeached, it was a a rat-run congress and they opted not to forbid him from ever serving in federal office again, so he ran for congress a couple years later, and has been re-elected probably around 8-9 times since. Pelosi put him on the Rules Committee and he has some other important committees, too, including one of the important House intelligence committees. Yeah. That piece of corrupt shit is on an important House intel committee - as in highly classified and very sensitive information.
What a shame people don’t pick this up just by paying attention and following the dialog. One would think that in 6 years at FR a member might have clued into election cycles and the relevant constitutional provisions setting forth those offices and elections.
Damn scary.
We’ve only begun to fight.
Agreed. Making no claim to be a civics expert myself, I have learned a lot about the political process just by hanging around FR.
Toilet Paper
I’m shocked, shocked to hear that gambling is going on at Ricks....

“Many people in the house are voting on this with the expectation that it will go to reconciliation.”
Really?
REALLY?!!!
Do they REALLY TRUST that it will go to reconciliation?
They don’t effing CARE!
As a friend of mine said, “They have been threatened with photos or videos of their indescretions with farm animals, therefore they will do as told!”
Gee. I wonder what Bart Stupid thinks now.
The Obama executive order is just nevil chamberlin holding up a blank piece of paper saying “peace in our time.”
Obama is just the national socialist.
