Bill Kristol at the Weekly Standard issues a rallying cry this morning for Republicans to run on the basis of repealing ObamaCare in 2010 and 2012. Kristol exhorts opponents of the statist soon-to-be law to make this a central plank of the GOPs platform for the next two election cycle in his special editorial today:
Luckily, key parts of Obamacareespecially the subsidiesdont go into effect until 2014. So what Republicans have to do is to make the 2010 and the 2012 elections referenda on Obamacare, win those elections, and then repeal Obamacare.
Of course that cant be the whole message in 2010 and 2012. Of course there will be other important issues. And even on this issue, the message will have to be not just repeal but also replacereplace Obamacare with sensible reforms. Whats more, working out exactly how to repeal and replace the parts of the legislation that will already be in effect is an important task, one to which I know Paul Ryan has already given some thought.
But the details of the replacing and reforming are secondary. Repeal is the heart of the matter. It should be the heart of the message. Think of it this way: This year Obama has handed Republicans a one-item Contract with America, an item a majority of the public supportsopposition to, and therefore repeal of, Obamacare.

I think we need to keep on calling. Shame-on-you calls and rallies? I don't think we should leave the field.
Yep, the bureaucrates hired in such a program will protest once threatened with lay offs. They will be kept elsewhere at best like on Alimoni for a whore who does not mind taking it in the arse by illegals for $$.
Mark my words. This gangsta rap black tune which revolts against the yoke of given freedom will not end well.
So long the GOP does not understand the criminals behind this, their own coruption, and the need for a criticism and spanking law of the liberals in this freedom of speech land, they might as well throw their guns in the river and bend over to the illegals too.
I agree, it can. But will? Doubtful. In fact chances are probably zero. The commies have been waiting for 50+ years to get control like this and they will NOT let legalities stand in the way.

Don’t be negative. Go tell Sarah to stop sucking up to McCain who’s McCain Feingold got us here.
MCCain Feingodl gave us Dem Congress 2006/2008 and Obama 2008. All from Sarah’s friend.
Sometime in the near future, at the ex parte meeting between
the Defendant and SCOTUS:
How shall we further serve you, our Master and King.
The American People don't want to be told what insurance to buy and forced to buy insurance by the Fed. government.
SCOTUS overturning this is a sure bet. The trick will be getting it to their bench before the entitlements kick in.
SCOTUS shredded McCain Feingold. Don’t talk nonsense.
VA AG Ken Cucinelli can fast track it through the Third District court as another freeper said they have the Rocket Docket.
Rostenkowski’s bill was also thrown out because seniors were pissed.
Stop posting patent defeatist nonsense.
Exactly. And these people put down libbies for hope and change yet they keep clinging to the "hope" that it will be repealed and "hope" that we will sweep the elections in November. Hope has failed and it is time to get real action going and it starts with civil disobedience such as strikes and shutting down the economic infrastructure.
You’re wrong. Thanks for giving us Obama.
Repeal does not appeal to me as much as nullification by states. Nullification can lead to more success against socialism whereas repeal seems limited.
I would like to see nullification neuter Obama and all of his planned unconstitutional mandates, then we can organize behind state 10th amendment social networks to transform how business is done in Washington. For example, FairTax, Repeal of the 16th and 17th.
Republicans would do well to get behind the Tea Party and State movements and not attempt to repeal and tinker. Because repeal requires them to offer an alternative, and quite frankly I am sick of government thinking they need to stick their nose in the business of Americans.
We need to run conservatives in primaries whose goal will be to do our will and the will of our states.
We have many more red states that the dems have blue states. The dems describe their control in terms of an “urban archipelago”. But the Constitution gives powerful tools to use that are state based.
However, if they cooperate with the States' court actions, they can bar parts from being implemented which is as good as repeal...at least for the time being.
Well.......let me say this about that.....
Last Christmas, after the Senate passed the current HC bill, there was a thread on FR. "Last Chance to Stop Healthcare Bill" or somesuch.
Seems that some Republican nobody was running for Ted Kennedy's seat, and he was seen as breaking the filibuster-proof majority ....if he could get elected. Problem was that the seat was traditionally held for 60-some years by Dems, and it was in Eastern Mass.... a traditionally Dem stronghold.
"Good Luck with that.", I said, went on about my business, and resolved to not let the HealthCare bill ruin my holidays.
Now, as it turned out, Brown won in a virtual landslide and the bill was never sent back to the Senate - likely because of Brown.
I'm not discounting anything, politically, now. America is awake and ready to go. I think the question is "Will the people stay that way?".
“Dont let anyone tell you an entitlement cant be repealed. The leftists just dont want people to know it can be done.”
Amen. Anyone remember Rosty in his car? It was hilarious.
Yes we need a multipronged attack.
VA AG Ken Cucinelli can fast track it through the Third District court as another freeper said they have the Rocket Docket.
Rostenkowskis bill was also thrown out because seniors were pissed.
A tally of those dying without insurance should begin the moment Obama signs the bill into law.
