Shed No Blood For Oppression
03/22/2010 | Self

Posted on 03/22/2010 6:15:21 PM PDT by CJacobs

Do we conservatives REALLY want to end the government control of our health care? Just how serious are we in stopping this? I doubt we are motivated enough to damage the health care system in this manner, but if we were very dedicated to stopping this nationalization of our health care, we could make a huge statement to America. So much they would have to listen.

This is very radical idea that I propose. I know I will be crucified for suggesting this. People will hate me, even though I have done so much for others throughout my life. If conservatives were truly serious about stopping the nationalization of our health care, this could be done.

The answer is for conservatives to do NOTHING. No, this is NOT a proposal to stop paying taxes. This proposal is perfectly legal.

The campaign title is "shed no blood for oppression". We need to stop donating blood over a specific period of time.

If you read the book, "Who Really Cares", by Arthur C. Brooks, you will find that more conservatives than liberals (regardless of income) donate more blood. The liberals DEPEND upon us conservatives to be kind and generous, including our blood. We have always been generous in our charity. We have always responded when there was crisis in the blood donations. Knowing conservatives the way I do, we would never let someone die needlessly when it only takes a little bit of our time to save a life. As Christians, we feel it is our duty to help others in need. So I ask the Christians a simple question, "What extremes would you go to in order to save a human life?" Would you be willing to send some Soldiers into battle to stop oppression knowing that some Soldiers would be killed?

I suggest this "shed no blood for oppression" campaign for just two particular months. Those two months, which happen to be the most critical need for blood donations, are November and December.

The government can forcibly take our money. The government can forcibly dictate our health care, but the government cannot (at least right now), forcibly take our blood.

I have donated 11.5 gallons of blood (my official count, but I have actually donated more), but now I quit. I am calling for all of my fellow conservatives to protest this health care takeover by not donating blood in November and December in this "shed no blood for oppression" campaign. These two months will bring our health care system to its knees.

It is MY blood, and now I choose not to give it to you, America.

You want my blood America? Then give me back my freedoms, beginning with my health care. I will shed no blood for oppression.

Will you also deny them your essence?

Why just limit the protest to November and December? Hell, don’t donate blood at all unless you do it for a close intimate or friend who you know will get the blood directly and immediately.

Its a stupid idea. Giving blood is an act of true Christian charity. It is not a government sponsored welfare program.

Conservatives are charitable with what belongs to them. Liberals are charitiable with what belongs to others.

Bad idea.

Really bad idea.

I apologize that I do not understand your question. I interpret essence as "spirit", "heart", or "soul".

Liberals have no stated rights to any of those, only God does.

I will gladly donate blood for someone i know, but there are enough free loaders out there that wouldn’t do anything for anybody and that is one thing they can’t steal from me is my blood so i and i only will choose who will get my blood.

Giving blood should not be an act of defiance against the government. Donating blood saves lives. I wish to God I could donate, but I can’t. Be grateful you can and just do it. You can find other ways to protest health care deform.

Why don’t we refuse medicare if over 65 and pay our
own health care. Show them we mean business and we
can pay our own way. That would show them. I am
ready if you are.

General Ripper quote my friend, and I’m sorry but your idea is just as crazy.

I recommend grain alcohol.

This is a rediculous idea. It will only harm innocent people and will do nothing to stop the socialist advance.

If you want to make a difference pick a solid conservative candidate running for congress in your district or state this Fall and donate your time or money to their cause.

Well, I knew that suggesting this “shed no blood” for those two months (November and December) would be to give the courts some time to repeal this, but then if not, then we could actually do a SHORT TERM protest that would hit America hard. November and December are the two months where the blood supply is very short. Hospitals scramble to make it through almost every winter on the short supply of blood.

I know this is a tough pill for some to swallow, denying people the blood to save their lives. those are the same kind of people that I would NEVER want for an officer in the military. They do not understand that sometimes in order to save lives, some Soldier’s lives may (and probably will) be lost.

This is a better alternative that a violent revolt or a civil war.

Conservatives are charitable with what belongs to them. Liberals are charitable with what belongs to others.

BINGO! As Mr. P.J. O'Rourke once observed, liberalism is immoral, because you can't get into heaven by giving your neighbor's bank account to the poor.

End of argument - and allow me to invite any member of the 'Kennedy klan,' the 'Kerry klan,' or any other ultra-wealthy, champagne-socialist, hypocrite D@mocrat (but I repeat myself ;>) out there to kiss my @ss...

;>)

Bringing commerce to a hault for a day or so would have a quicker effect, I think. I don’t oppose your idea but really could not participate because I cannot give blood because of medication I have to take. I have thought about canceling my medicare and that may be an option because there will come a time when medical treatment will be denied for most of older folks anyhow. So why pay for the insurance when there is no benefit.

So in this case the “soldier” to be sacrificed will be, let’s say, an 8 year old injured in a car crash?

Let’s get back to basics, please. No one is going to deny blood as a protest.

To quote a Soldier that I highly respect that wrote in an email over Christmas while in Iraq, “There is no better gift one can give than the gift of freedom”.

I would rescend every drop of blood I have ever donated if it meant that my country were forever free.

I am sorry you do not value freedom as much as I do.

Please don’t lecture others who don’t want to follow your crazy idea. You are not my commanding officer, and have no reason to believe that you are.

I agree with you, but not for your stated reasons. I believe that if we alter our lifestyle in a way that impacts society, that chaos will develop. If all conservatives stopped giving blood they would be excoriated and the Feds would start paying $1000 a pint to get it and socialists and conservatives would stand in line to donate. That is ok because the paradigm changed.

Each in our own way can make a paradigm change without a massive boycott, a massive outcry or a massive march. We may influence a handful of people who influence a handful of people and on and on until there are a large number of things happening or not happening.

Chaos works both ways.
