Swiss President Doris Leuthard called on Sunday for a central register of paedophile priests, to prevent them from having further contact with children.
Her statement to Swiss media came as a sexual abuse scandal sweeps the Catholic Church worldwide, with Swiss police too investigating allegations that children were harmed by priests.
I don’t understand why it’s not already happening. I hope that in America, you can’t hide behind the priesthood when it comes to registering as a sex offender.
Hiding behind the Church has been the modus operandi for who knows how long. Why would a registry be any different?
Why stop at priests? How about rabbis, mullahs, parsons, Boy Scout leaders, teachers, politicians, actors, directors, florists, interior designers, lawyers, community leaders, basketball coaches, gym teachers...
Good question... Wonder if there are any rogue NUNS too?...
If were just a register of all paedophiles I would support it. But why only priests? Is there another agenda here? Of course you know the answer.

Again, IMO, the "Swiss president calling for a 'register'" is something they already have. There's no secret lists anymore. This is merely a part of the coordinated media attack on the Catholic Church. It's like clockwork each year - "hey, it's Holy Week, let's bash the Church".

Be interesting to see all her remarks....it’s possible the headline writer has misconstrued the content of the actual reporting. (Boy, they hardly ever do that, do they?)

As RC's and FReepers that are lawyers have explained it, if the victim doesn't report the crime and the pervert only gave the information in confession nothing can be done.
Come on lets deal with reality. 94% of RC's in Congress voted for Obamacare. There wasn't any great objection to it.
If your church is being attacked for it's crimes against children it's because it systematically covered them up.
That would be contrary to the modus operandi of your cabal.
May the perv priests and enabling bishops get all the authority of secular law thrown at them. Wearing a robe and a cross should not make ANYONE above the law.
