Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele "allowed a certain climate to exist" that resulted in the committee paying for a now infamous visit to a Los Angeles strip club, a senior RNC committeeman told Fox News.
Steele's critics point to the strip club story as another in a series of controversies in which his leadership has been found wanting. The chairman's office has rejected such flak as unwarranted by the facts in the case. RNC spokesman Doug Heye also points out that Steele was not at Voyeur, did not have any knowledge of the expenditure and finds the use of committee funds at such a location unacceptable.
Publicly filed documents revealed this week that a Republican donor, Erik Brown, had been permitted to charge the RNC for a $1,946 visit last February to the Los Angeles strip club Voyeur. In response to the disclosure, the RNC Tuesday fired staffer Allison Meyers, the director of the committee's "Young Eagles" program. It was Meyers who turned in the receipt as an expense...
Steele also controversially said on a cable talk show he thought some Republicans were "afraid of black people"...
"For the first time I can remember, we have less cash on hand than the Democrats, and that's the real crime here, we should be spending our money more wisely." said one well placed Republican source....

It just may be that “our black guy” thinks that he can do the same stupid stuff as the dims do and be approved but finds that conservatives actually have standards and believe that everyone, yes, even blacks, need to abide by them.
Agree as well. Steele was appointed DUE to skin color and also due to pc RINOS that graze the GOP halls. I vote to kick him out now.
Correct on all 3 points. As a matter of fact, he's to an extent done all 3 things already. He's whined about racism the last time his nutty behavior was called into question, he attacked Rush after he took office using terms similar to "far right wing wackos”{ Steele called Rush "ugly," "incendiary"}, and he's already written a book which hs eodnds more time selling than actually running the RNC. This whole RNC dig is all about feathering Micheal Steel's nest and filling his pockets.
That isn’t PC, but when you say he’s “our black guy” is just stupid and it does come across racist. There are plenty of things to dislike about him but comparing him to Obama because he’s black is stupid and irrelevant.
If you are white I guess that means we should/can compare you to hitler.
I agree he will say it’s because of race and some of the posts in this thread are making it easy for him to claim that.
How is that racist? I simply said two black guys were inept, not ALL black guys, which would be racist. Actually, I think your kneejerk mention of Justice Thomas as an example of a “good” black guy was extremely racist. Shame on you!
It’s racist now to say “our black guy”?
He was nominated by Bob Ehrlich as a ploy to get the black vote in Baltimore and Prince George's county. It worked and Ehrlich (who by-the-way IS NOT a conservative and looking currently to run for office again)won one term.
Ehrlich tried the same ploy again when Steele started to believe his own propaganda and opted to run for Congress and not for Lt. Governor again. Steele lost. Ehrlich nominated a legally blind white woman as Lt. Governor. Ehrlich lost.
We tried to tell you, but no, no one wanted to believe us then. Now, I am telling you. When Ehrlich announces for some office, don't go all ga-ga. Ehrlich is an establishment RINO as was and still is Steele.
He didn’t say anything racist. Steele and Obama are both black.
That Steele’s rehiring would even be considered as a possibility is appalling to me.
Thank God for all of those like yourself who see so clearly.
Because it was “OUR” black guy as if we own him
Are you now or have you ever been a liberal? You’re out of your gourd. And, by your admittedly stupid standard, you yourself are a racist for mentioning Thomas as OUR implied black guy. I’d quit while I was behind.
You can say whatever you like, and you can review my posting history. Stupid comments like “our black guy vs. their black guy” is a racist comment. Yes it’s not as obvious as saying our N vs. their N, but it pretty much implies the same thing.
Ever been to mississippi? I was on honor guard for the Air Force as the OIC for the funeral once in the early 90s and the guy referred to the black workers as “his blacks” and yes it was obvious what he meant.
And you are a racist idiot. Now that we got the name calling out of the way if you don’t have anything constructive to say let’s just agree to disagree and not litter this forum up with the trash.
1. You started the name calling with your first post to me.
2. I would never in a million years have thought to bring up Justice Thomas in the context of this discussion. Why did you? I can only assume you're heart may not be as pure as all of your self righteous posturing would have us believe.
Sorry I can’t let you let such false statement stands. You need to re-read the posts (as I just did). I didn’t call you a name...the only thing I stated was a statement of fact that your comment was racist. It doesn’t mean you are a racist.
So please show me where I resorted to name calling prior to your two name calling posts. And don’t worry many people resort to name calling once they lose an argument. Bill Clinton and the left did it all the time when he was being called out for his shananigans. It’s a typical method to try and “win” a lost cause. Typically you should attack the facts, but if you can’t then attack the message, and if that fails attack the person. At least by your resorting to name calling I see you admit the comment was a racist one. Thank you for making my point for me.
