BORN IN THE USA? Army 'showdown' at eligibility corral
World Net Daily ^ | March 31, 2010 | Joe Kovacs

A top-ranking, highly decorated officer in the U.S. Army says he's now refusing all orders until President Barack Obama finally releases his long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate to prove his eligibility to serve as commander in chief.

"I feel I have no choice but the distasteful one of inviting my own court martial," said Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, an active-duty flight surgeon charged with caring for Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey's pilots and air crew. "The Constitution matters. The truth matters."

"For the first time in all my years of service to our great nation, and at great peril to my career and future, I am choosing to disobey what I believe are illegal orders, including an order to deploy to Afghanistan for my second tour of duty there. I will disobey my orders to deploy because I – and I believe all servicemen and women and the American people – deserve the truth about President Obama's constitutional eligibility to the office of the presidency and the commander in chief.

Yes, they will just get around it. They’ve done it before.

And the way around it is the miitary’s chaim of command. Colonels don’t take orders from the Commander-in-Chief, they take orders from their direct superior officer. Therefore the military will charge that Lieutenant Colonel Lakin is refusing orders from his superior officer, not from Barack Obama.

It dawned on me after I'd given up on the page that I could probably use another email address and get around it. It's really frustrating when you hit a page that does things differently from the usual way things are done online. I got the feeling with PayPal that they would hang on to the funds for a day or two, probably to get interest or something. I used to use a stock photo agency in Canada that used them to pay me. It was a royal pain. The agency would swear they'd paid, PayPal would insist they hadn't. Then PayPal would give me grief because of the Canadian funds. I don't use PayPal or that agency anymore. I have enough in my life to drive me nuts and really don't need the extra aggravation. That's what wives and grandchildren are for! Thanks for the hint, though.

I'll head back and make sure it gets through this time. I feel it's VERY important that we support this effort on his part. If he's had a stellar military career he's really putting a lot on the line. I admire him for both his service and his recognition that the Constitution does matter.

For the life of me, I can't understand how people can simply dismiss the eligibility question. Even if I didn't detest Obama and all he stands for I would be concerned about the holder of that office meeting the Constitutional requirements involved. If you don't support it in its entirety, where do you draw the line. What's next. Will they try to tell us we don't have the right keep and bear arms? Oh wait.....

I think this is a very essential thing to do in as such as being sworn to defend America.

How many times in history have impostors walked into a position of power and gave orders that resulted in death, destruction, theft, and treason?

There are too many unanswered questions about Obama, he has managed to get elected to the highest position in America on basically a forged, vague resume.

I would not obey orders from anyone in a position of authority over me if I thought they were an usurper of power or basically an impostor.

That’s not entirely true. The one guy volunteered for duty. Then challenged the order. So, they decided he unvolunteered.

The other doctor that Taitz represented went to court, lost, and is now deployed.

[[On the other hand, a court martial might well open the door to a defense involving seeking the birth certificate info or related info.]]

Do you really think a court will order Obama to produce a birth certificate? Or will they just say that a request for discovery has to be relevant and disallow it? For one thing, the guy is disobeying his IMMEDIATE superiors, not The One. And Soetero is CIC because Congress certified the electoral vote and he was sworn in, not because he did or didn’t have a birth certificate.

I wonder if this guy just wants to get out of service, and figures this is the best way to do it.

Then they went on a mission to destroy the guy...got him canned from his civilian job, in which he had held an executive position for years, because the company execs. in that company had to have a top secret clearance, and (again, Obummer I’m sure) revoked his clearance.

Not quite. What happened in that case was that Stefan Cook, under the wise legal guidance of Orly Taitz, declared himself to be a conscientious objector. That meant that his security clearance was automatically revoked.

No, I don’t. My point was that the issue may at least be presented in the context of a defense motion which, even if denied, would present an appellate issue.

I’d think that if the CIC is not eligible, any orders would not be lawful and the POW protections of the Geneva Conventions might not apply to soliders acting on those orders.

No, our enemies are lawless barbarians even without this issue. But it seems to me that the birth cerificate issue does theoretically ask our military to take a legal risk they have never taken before.

If I’m way off base here, thanks in advance (to anyone) for setting me straight.
