Jobs! We have jobs! Obama tosses a rubber bone in America’s employment Easter basket

Ah... the headlines. Despite the CBS poll showing Obama approval ratings at an all-time low in the past couple of days with 44% approval rating, and even lower in his handling of health care at 56% disapproval, the POTUS has the audacity to take a swaggering victory lap, welcoming the newest jobs report from the BLS as "...beginning to turn the corner" on the US economy.

Obama has done little more than toss a rubber bone into America's Easter basket on jobs. Closer scrutiny of the breakdown of jobs created reveal that 48,000 of the jobs are federal employees created not by the stimulus or Obama's policies, but by the Constitutionally mandated census. Not only are these jobs a wash when they disappear in the fall - assuming they report them as jobs lost then - their "employers" are the rest of the nation. And how convenient that that job loss number will happen after the mid term elections, yes?

Overall, the federal government accounted for 39,000 new jobs... the 48,000 temporary jobs for the census was the big plus, with a small amount of local government education jobs. Meanwhile, local non education jobs, state education and non education jobs and the US Post Office continued to shed jobs. Out of the 162,000 jobs created - down from the projected 200,000 boost economists anticipated - approximately one quarter of them are government... and temporary to boot.

The second largest number of job creation was in the ever growing temporary hired help. 40,000 temporary service help jobs were also created during March. In the overall gain of 42,600 jobs thru employments services gained, 40,200 of them were temporary positions.

Obama is the Destroyer of Nations when it comes to job creation, or anything else for that matter.

Obama is a mentally ill glib eloquent psychopath, who truly hates the United States.

Sheesh, haven’t we been “beginning to turn that corner” for about 6 months? I’m sick and tired of hearing about that stupid corner!

This economy is going nowhere.

I don’t care what “facts” this administration throws at us.

We’re heading for very tough times. There is no other way it can go, folks, I’m sorry to say.

I know this because I understand the people who are in charge. They are “low consumption” leftists—they don’t want you to prosper. It damages the environment, it hurts the poor, and you already have much more than you “need.”

I also work with hundreds of small businesses and almost none of them have hiring on their radar.

Sales are low for almost all of them.

The economy will not improve until these people are ousted. They simply do not want it to improve.

The only shovel ready jobs created are the ones needed after an Obozo speech.

48,000 Census jobs? That’s a bit of an understatement. It’s more like 10x that. My office alone is hiring over 900 for one operation that is yet to start, not even counting the over 200 we already have. And that is but one of over 490 LCOs (Local Census Offices)and in a lower-population area, to boot. The math will reveal the truth.

contractors here are sub-contracting to each other (their competition) rather than hire new people...

In an age of computers are they computing those 10 questions and tallying them with pencils and yellow legal pads?????

Larger ballots in general elections are calculated very quickly.

The mailout forms go right to a scanning facility. The workers are there for the places that don’t get mailed forms. An example is the mountains just north of me, including Yosemite. Then there are all the folks that live in temporary facilities (trailer/RV parks, etc) homeless people (we did a sweep of local parks and things at midnight the other night. Prisons, college dorms, military facilities, etc are coming up, plus the followup on residences that don’t mail in their forms (that’s the biggie.. they estimate 3 or more months for that) AND the quality assurance re-interviews (that’s my current job) and making sure the field people are actually surveying, and checking the above work for fraud and falsification (what I’ll be doing next..)

There are also the assistance centers to help out people who have trouble filling out the forms for whatever reason (language, being dumb, etc) Our office staffs those, also (did that for one day.. it darn near drove me nuts.. not a single person came in for help)

I’ve even spent a couple days fingerprinting all the new hires training that day. Note: we print and run EVERYBODY!

We have turned the corner so many times, that we are going around in circles.

“This economy is going nowhere.”
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I find no way to dispute that statement. All the talk of recovery is garbage. The way this outfit counts I could imagine an area where bountiful crop are grown by dryland farming (no irrigation needed) and the rainfall patterns change so that billions must be spent on irrigation systems. The result would be a great boost to the economy in the official report.

Once again a lying sack! According to his many campaign speeches since becoming president we have turned the corner many times only to find we are in the middle of oncoming traffic. Here we sit watching our country being taken over by 60’s drug flashback radicals and the usurper community organizer and thief. May the tide of independent conservatism wash you out to sea!

There’s so much truth in your post. The worst is yet to come, for sure. It’s sad and scary but I almost wish some of this would hit soon, i.e. before November, so the public is p.o.’d enough to roust this band of evil, evil, people.

Will love of Country ever overtake GREED?? These are truly the “TIMES THAT TRY MEN’S SOUL’S”! SO, WHAT are WE going to do about it? We need a real LEADER with some GOOD Ideas to step up and help us out here. I’m too old and not smart enough to have the answers, so I’m counting on the young, intelligent “Thinkers” of today to help us out. (Where are They???)—In this age of Dumbed down Schools, Lord only knows?—but we are desperate for an Am. Leader—someone, who Loves his Country; a true American Patriot such as Reagan, who is not only smart, but who has Common Sense; Someone who can Verbalize it, Sell it and get Obama out of his Palace of Destruction! Obama’s only interest seems to be “tearing down our entire Country”...It seems as if he’s got a Head start with the wind at his back...May Heaven Help us All!
