Embattled GOP party boss Michael Steele said Monday he and President Obama share the same burden - they both get held to a tougher standard because they're black.
"The honest answer is, yes," Steele said on "Good Morning America." "Barack Obama has a slimmer margin. A lot of folks do."
That, said Steele, is "just the reality of it."
The GOP chairman spoke out a day after several top Republicans raked him over the coals for lavish spending and after two sex-themed embarrassments rocked the GOP last week.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Steele was off-base.

Oh my - it's tough being black, except for the race card, huh Michael? Time for the GOP to move on!

No, I agree with him. It's got to be hard being black, what with all those set-asides, preferences, 100% financial aid in a multitude of areas. ...How's a brutha' supposed to know what to do?
To: SeattleBruce
Its even tougher when you are incompetent.
To: SeattleBruce
Wrong! It’s tough being black and conservative.

Amen - they’ve both had the benefit of a LOT of affirmative action. Steele playing the race card doesn’t help the GOP AT ALL.

Oh, spare me. Being black means never having to say you’re sorry. You can always blame it on your melanin.

Two affirmative action babies.
Seems to me you’ve done pretty well, Michael. And Obama got all the way to the top without doing an honest day’s work in his life.

It's tough going against the people you work for.
The race card has been played too often and does not work anymore.
You can call it an example of inflation in action.
