The current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave throws like sissy

I got a good laugh from my wife when I told her she threw like a (failing) president.

LOVE the picture in #1 of our President throwing out the first ball at the Nationals game. Today, the local Philly sportscasters were gracious , but they brought up when our W threw the PERFECT strike during the 2001 World Series. They were in AWE. I still am.

Today, the current president threw a girlie throw way high and outside.

My Phillies ROMPED over the Nats today - 11-1. It was glorious.

I miss our W. A true baseball man.

Kaslin, I'm very happy to see that pic of the Jonas Brothers at the White House in 2008. I didn't remember that they had ever performed at the White House prior to the night they surprised the tweens currently living there on January 20th 2009. After seeing the pic you posted I did a little research.

Their first appearance at a White House Easter Egg Roll was on Monday, April 9, 2007.

Their second on Wednesday June 27, 2007 at a Tee Ball game on the South Lawn.

Then the one pictured here on Monday, March 24 2008 at the White House Easter Egg Roll.

In August of 2008 they filmed a public service announcement at the White House with Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne

In November 2008 the brothers joined Laura Bush in Dallas at a National Parks Foundation youth event called First Bloom.

They may have been there at other times for less publicized events during the Bush Administration but they were in and out of the White House so frequently in 2007 and 2008 they might have been family members. Clearly they were already well-known and in demand during in 2007 and 2008 or they wouldn't have been invited to perform. Yet I have no recall of any press mention about them being there. not until the excited gushing over a single appearance by the brothers at the White House in 2009.

Thanks for the pictures- I miss those wonderful days in the past.
I bet many people would think George Bush would look good right now. (compared to BO)
Miss those days with a great couple that lived in “The People’s House.”

My favorite baseball picture is when he threw out the opening ball of the World Series .. right after 9/11.

It was so risky for him to go out in the middle of the ball park - totally unprotected (so to speak - though he did have body armour on), and throw out the ball. I remember thinking, as he strolled out to the mound .. he was actually living a dream - because it had always been in his heart to be a major league pitcher. And .. although he had given up that dream to follow God’s leading into politics, here he was .. walking to the mound - in the World Series - and he would actually get to throw a ball. I am convinced it was God’s reward.

I remember watching the video over and over and marveling at his courage. It encouraged me. It was dark when he went to the mound and the stands were shimmering with flash bulbs wanting to catch the moment.

It was such an - in your face - moment for America. A proud and courageous President - showing everyone - even the terrorists - that we would not go quietly into the night - hiding in the shadows, afraid to show ourselves.

This was one of those moments you never forget in your whole life .. I felt especially proud to be an American.

I appreciate your saying that he throws like a "sissy" rather than saying he throws like a girl, Kaslin.

Because I am a girl, and I thow waaaaay better than this girly man does. :)

Thanks for the thread! I'm just getting started, but so far it's GREAT!

President Bush had a number of flaws...

It always startles me a bit when someone says something like this. Of course he "had" a number of flaws. He still does. He's a human being, just like all the rest of us 6 billion folks on the planet. No mere mortal has ever been born without "flaws," and none ever will be.

The measure of a person is not their flaws, but the sum total of their lives and achievements. Focusing solely on any person's flaws is always a mistake. Focus, instead, on the balance sheet of a person's life.

President George W. Bush is, in substantive ways, a genuinely great man. The balance sheet of his life shows far, far, FAR more great and good achievements on the positive side than the negative side of his ledger.

In my opinion, the great failing -- tragedy, even -- of modern conservatives is that most tend to look only at the negative side of the ledger for most conservative/Republican leaders. By doing that, very few are acceptable. We split our votes and the likes of Obama get elected.
