Does it cite evolution as fact or theory? That is a good question. However, what I find refreshing is that this guy has found a way to fight the school board without raising the evolution/creation question. He is fighting, in a way, political correctness that is subtley discounting Christianity.

"Melissa Copelan, the boards director of public affairs tells Fox News, when there is a concern about education materials there is a process that is followed
Now it is up to the board. The board needs to act or it will be up to a court.

Why does the book have to say anythign about creationism at all, just remain silent on it. Seems like it is used as a tool for slamming christians.

The Bible itself is not a myth, the context, and premise of the Bible is mythical. Juts like any other myth. I see his point that, to religious children, reading something like this will invariably draw questions. I empathize with him, and I think he has made his point, however, I doubt the school will capitulate?

It’s biased against Jews as well. Genesis is Old Testament. This book pretty much says There Is No God.

Does it cite evolution as fact or theory? It doesn't matter. Biology is the study of life. Creation is a theological belief.
Get over it. This is an asinine lawsuit and should be thrown out.

We need to see the exact text this guy is suing over. If it does make an explicit statment about religions belief than I believe he could have a case.

It is a Scientific Theory. That isn’t a “guess” — it is the highest echelon of information in science. Evolution happened. TToE explains it.

If it explicitly says the Bible is a myth, then that is over the line and also wandering into areas which the Life Sciences do not belong. The same would be true for any theological text or concept.

Philosophy is also not Science. It can be fun and has applications in the scientific realm, but it provides nothing that can be harnessed nor explained.

I agree. If it has to cite anything about the creation, it should just state that no one really knows or something to that effect.

Education material that is offensive, intolerant, racist, or one-sided in nature should not be used in our school system "One-sided" is in the eye of the beholder; as are the terms: "offensive," "intolerant," and "racist."
As my tagline suggests, there is room for improvement inside closed minds.

It is one thing to present current views on evolution and ignoring Creationism; however, calling Creationism a biblical myth is a judgment, not a biological fact. This textbook went way too far. If you are gong to teach science, then stick with materialism or naturalism and do not make religious or political judgments.
