Tea partiers push GOP 2012 hopefuls to the right
Associated Press ^ | 08 Apr 2010 | CHARLES BABINGTON

WASHINGTON - The tea party's demands for ideological purity have caught some GOP presidential hopefuls off guard, forcing them to awkwardly defend past decisions as they watch hard-right rivals gain ground...

--snip--

Such tensions are likely to complicate the Republican presidential picture for the next two years, said Democratic consultant Chris Lehane, who worked on Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign. Potential GOP candidates are caught between two vital bases, he said: Wall Street's deep-pocketed pragmatic interests and the high-decibel, uncompromising views of the tea party...

CHARLES BABINGTON is clueless.

Michael Barone: Run against Wall Street (Rats want Too Big To Fail to continue!)

They should oppose giving preferred status to the very largest firms as compared to smaller competitors. They should be prepared to argue that the Democratic bill gives vast advantages to firms whose employees have gotten huge compensation (and who, as it happens, tend to give more money to Democrats than Republicans). The cry should be, no favor to the big Wall Street fat cats. Mainstream media is unlikely to transmit this message but, as we have seen in the health care debate, messages can get through without them.

Schumer was grubbing money from Wall Street bankers starting in 2006 at least, if not earlier.

I’d worry if I were the state-run media about the fact that people are learning that the Far-Left happens to be all that the Demon party have to offer and it’s a hell of a lot worse than the ‘Far-Right’!

Dodd, Hillary, Kerry, and Ears were the biggest recipients from bankers.

Oh, Barak H Obama! The bankers own Congress, regardless of party. They have the country over a barrel.

The people who are now awakening and are collectively called “The Tea PArty” need to pull the GOP to the right.

Hmmm. I wonder if album sales for the band “The Tea Party” have increased in the last year.

Always interesting how the media runs to Democrats to comment on stories about GOP campaigns. BTW, I remember Gore's famous "everything that should be up is down and everything that should be down is up" lie when he was running against Republicans. It would be great to see that reused now that Democrats run the whole show.

Isn’t that the point of the Teaparty movement? If it is pushing them to the right, then it has been very successful. Thank God!

Shocking, I tell you. Just shocking.

“Tea partiers push GOP 2012 hopefuls to the right”

I still don’t think they understand. Tea partiers don’t want a candidate who has been pushed to the right. They want one who has been there all along.

The tea party's demands for ideological purity...

Leftist reversal. It is Obama and the Rats socialist-fascist "ideological purity" that everyday Americans are protesting through the tea party movement.

The problem therefore is that common sense is standing up to tyrannical ideological rigidity and exposing it for what it really is.

Solution? Blame the victim. Re-label that common sense as "ideological purity" and go from there...

None of these types of writings are accidental or stupid. They are the result of devious liars sitting down at their keyboards knowingly constructing political deceptions for the sole purpose of supporting tyranny.

This constant Leftist Rat journalistic effort is true sedition.

And we have to watch for the pretenders, especially the slick ones. Since we are clamoring for people to go the the right, you'll probably see RINOs lke Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty and even Slimeball McCain shifting their strategies. Let's not fall for that and let's hold their feet to the fire on the fact that their past actions really DO speak louder than words and will have consequences.

It's time for people like Pence, DeMint, Bachmann, Palin, Ryan, etc. to take the stage.

“Yes as Obama nudges us to the left thank God the Tea Party Patriots are pushing the Repubs to the right.”

Agree for sure. Personally, I hope that Obama/Reid/Pelosi are so arrogant and tone deaf that they will attempt to pass a VAT. Now that will ferret out the Lib's and Rino’s. Also, will cause the Tea Party movement to grow exponentially.
