Boxer jokes about "Devore Interchange" during Inland appearance

Reminders that it's campaign season seem to crop up everywhere these days.

"Let's get this straight, even though it is named for one of my opponents, I am committed to the Devore Interchange," Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., jokingly told a crowd in San Bernardino last week while touring the construction site for the Interstate 215 widening project. "I will put that aside."

Orange County Assemblyman Chuck DeVore is one of three Republicans trying to unseat Boxer this fall. A recent Field Poll had DeVore, former Rep. Tom Campbell and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina running nearly even with Boxer. Campbell was 1 percent ahead of Boxer in the poll, taken last month.

Boxer may want to steer clear of the Campbell streets, places and avenues that dot the Inland area. The region's Thomas Guide, though, is Fiorina-free.

Does she realize yet that she will not be a Senator this time next year?

Barbara Boxer IS a joke. Dumb as a box of hammers.

former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina...

I almost hate to say this but if it is a choice between Boxer and Fiorina, I'm not going to vote.

It is incomprehensible to her she is “Senator” Boxer and demands to be called such. The voters of California are clearly ready to get rid of her. Now we just need someone that is a clear contrast and that is where DeVore fits the bill. He just needs greater name id.

Under HP's agreement with Fiorina, she was paid slightly more than twenty million dollars in severance. When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 1/2 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per share—a loss of over 60% of the stock's value.

Yep. That is Fiorina. She looks better than HP stock under her watch.

Mention Boxer’s name in California and the response is profanity and disgust. Believe it!

THAT is Fiorina???

She fought off breast cancer, which I'm certainly NOT going to knock her for.

She showed major incompetence running HP, Lucent, and the economic component of McCain's inept campaign which I AM going to knock her for.

Dump Carly! Go DeVore!

Oh, I live under her “Ma’am”-esty’s rule, too. And I hope this is the year she is put into retirement.

Ohhh. She has hair that short due to cancer. I am sorry I judged her harshly by her hair. (I still prefer DeVore.)
