Obama says we're still working on our democracy, and the White House adds that they're making progress:
President Obama said Sunday that the United States is still "working on" democracy and a top aide said he has taken "historic steps" to improve democracy in the United States during his time in office.
The remarks came as Obama met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev — one of the U.S. president's many meetings with world leaders ahead of this week's nuclear summit.

Obama is not simply pretentious. He is mad. His are the words and actions of insanity.
Furthermore, all democracies have been short lived, unstable, unperfectable in history. Democracies in modern times have all been compromised of specifically socialist, communist, fascist regimes....a democracy must develop to one of them or to a non-democratic dictatorship or oligarchy. No democracy has ever evolved to a constitutional republic. Our Constitutional Republic is being trashed in favor of an unstable, temporary democracy that will be totalitarian as all the others, except with new technological tools to make the totalitarianisms of the past even more “efficient”. Fascism is to the “right” only under the democracy umbrella and has NO relation to a constitutional republic. What the dems and Obama want is a dictatorial, one party “democracy”...Russia had one in the recent past...the dems think they have the model to establish it with...healthcare. I hope not, and hope is not a plan. The country needs more awakening to prevent this and time has run out.

Apparently he’s not comfortable with the representative Republic.
Even if we were a democracy, how could you then justify going against the popular will?
It has worked against us with respect to the popular vote at times; the electoral math doesn’t help when solid red states are overwhelmingly red, and borderline states are barely blue, winner take all.
I guess that’s what they mean about still working on it. They haven’t figured out how to negate us yet.
