A 31-year-old Massachusetts priest was among eight people charged with prostitution last week by Nashua police, who nabbed the men in a sting operation involving a local hotel and a Craigslist listing, police said yesterday.
William Ventura of 115 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, was charged with a single count of prostitution. The address supplied by police is that of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Yesterday, the Archdiocese of Boston released a statement that said Ventura has voluntarily accepted a leave of absence and restrictions on public ministry following his arrest on Friday.

No data. May be something on Craigslist, but I don’t go there.

“Police said the sting took place at a local hotel on Thursday. The purpose was to identify people intent on paying a woman for sexual relations in response to a listing on Craigslist, police said.”
From this I would infer that it was an entrapment/sting operation. Male johns, rather than a male prostitution ring.
Tonight, someone... somewhere in the Catholic Church is heaving a sigh of relief that it was an adult.
Well, I guess he can voluntarily accept it or involuntarily accept it!
Thanks, I missed that.
Thank-you.
Even if they confined their pursuits (assuming vigour equal to that with which they have been pursuing the wrongdoings of some personnel in the Church) to those in the Congress, their staffers, and ranking Executive Branch personnel, there would not be enough trees to print it all, and there are only a couple thousand or so of them.
Thanks, I missed that.

I had the same first impression.
I just wish the MSM would pursue the criminal misbehaviour of High-level Government Employees with the sort of vigour they have reserved for the Catholic Church.

Agreed. But then I wish the US government would treat Jihadists the same way they do Branch Davidians.
“Michael Pope, 34, 4 Danforth Road, Apt. 1, Nashua.”
Uh-oh. “Pope” charged in prostitution sting?
Wouldn’t that have been a scary headline!
It could have been a worse headline:
“Pope, Priest and seven men arrested in prostitution sting”
Wow, horrible timing given the recent hoopla with the Catholic Church and priests.
If there is anyone to answer it, I suppose it will. You might ask the mods to pull that, though. I don’t think we normally post someone’s phone number here, especially in a situation where that might expose them to harrassment.
