Angry Fox News executives reportedly ordered Sean Hannity to abandon plans, announced as late as this afternoon on his nationally syndicated radio program, to broadcast his TV show from a Cincinnati tea-party rally he was headlining.

Hannity, on a book tour for his No. 1 best-seller "Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda," was scheduled to be the featured speaker at a four-hour rally at the University of Cincinnati

No one was charging a fee for proximity to Beck.

Fox definitely going left....

Their parent company just purchased this website

www.realitysandwich.com

They mention Rupert Murdoch’s purchase of their site, scroll down below

Fox had no real reason to stop Hannity. Lame excuse.

Well, was it for all media organizations or just FOX? I really can’t imagine any Tea Party group charging for media exposure - but let the money makers in charge and there you go... I would think that if the group as a whole knew about that, it would be stopped!..

The TEA Party group charged the SMALL fee because they had to cover the cost of renting the arena....not a cheap proposition

Hanity is not a reporter but a news commentator and opinion guy. That said he is using his employer to promote a political cause on their dime. And, Murdoch is right to say that a news org. should not be supporting any party. Can’t whine when MSNBC does stuff like this and then justify it when Fox people do it.

misterrob is right. He wasn't just reporting, he was collecting money to support them

Be honest now, if someone from CNN, ABC, MSNBC had done this - you all would agree...

ah— you are getting it...

My guess would be that the Tea Party group was not charging anyone for media exposure....but.......

let’s say you plan a party....you invite a bunch of folks, reserve the venue....

then someone decides to invite themselves....and his friends have the ability to shut down your venue, and his self invitation comes with demands......then the folks who work for your uninvited guest are supposed to help you set up those demands....you send them the schematics to meet said demands weeks ahead.....then they wait until hours before the event to tell you your schematics don’t work, and when they do tell you, the message is lines with insults and contempt.....

this is all purely a hypothetical question....

Reality is a mean mistress, and the reality is Fox News IS held to a higher standard than other MSM. Should they be? NO. But the reality is they are, because they are the only national news medium with a sizable audience willing to actually practice legitimate journalism in an era when infotainment is accepted as jornalism. I am their #1 cheerleader.

Geez... Yes, he is an opinion guy just like CNN, MSNBC, and the rest... He is NOT a news guy... That puts him and most all of MSNBC and most of CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and (PBS for sure) in the same bracket. If you have not noticed - most all of the so-called NEWS organizations are no longer that - they are opinionated news outlets with very left and liberal viewpoints - and yes, it shows very much in the news.

Sean is just an entertainer using “conservatism” to make big money. Using Fox as a medium to build the “Hannity” brand leads to book deals, huge speaking and guest appearance fees. His Freedom Concerts are now coming under close scrutiny for delivering so little money to those in need while he flies private jets. I’m sure a ghost writer wrote the book and Sean just let the publisher use his name. I think a lot of these conservative pundits are making big money as a result of their appearances on Fox. I haven’t watched Sean for a few years.

Look, I understand that to many folks Hannity is a great guy, and I would probably react the same way you all have to someone you don’t know anything about....

I have wanted to shout from the rooftops for over a year now on what I saw happen....I didn’t because I have friends who work in positions that may have to work with him again...they are in media, hold office, etc....and this is a public site....

I don’t mind your skepticism or your snarky retorts, I honestly would probably react the same way.....

just try to take what I shared with a grain of salt, and keep your eyes open....

Herman Cain is a wonderful man and a great patriot with a keen sense of humor.

I guess your view of Hannity is one that he is a prima donna. Is that right?

that would be accurate.....

and I did not take your question as intending malice...that is why I like FREEPERS...you all would be fools not to ask....I just wish I could spill out ALL the beans....LOL!

Thankfully I have not had enough to drink to hit that mark!

Well, okay - you seem to be saying that Hannity is an ass when it comes to his working conditions. If that is the case, I lose respect for him immediately. You do make it sound as though he thinks he is above the rest and if true, that is a real shame.

I still don’t think that FOX should be put above the rest of the news gathering organizations but do understand your point. It is unfortunate that the only news group that tries to get out both sides is in the crossfire. Will probably always be so - but hopeful for future changes.

Sean was in the studio and did not broadcast live from Cincinnati like was promised. I was confused but after reading this thread,,,well, I’m still confused.
On his radio show, Billie Cunningham was joking about how Hannity’s appearance at the Tea Party was like Jesus coming to the Mount!

btw— your thoughts on Herman are dead on....

he is a man of integrity...although he did tease me for ordering salmon without the bun, but wanting onion rings for a side!

My fist time in a radio studio was for his show back before he was with WSB.....I met him back in 2004 and have been blessed to be able to come to call him friend....

thanks for understanding....

Cavuta was a joy to have...he really was.....he even talked to the folks in the crowd and didn’t keep himself quarantined on the stage.....I was very impressed with him...but he has always been my favorite guy at FOX— I am so glad he did not disappoint me on that!
