Prior fascists states did not have elections that enabled the peaceable transfer of power.
WE, ostensibly, WILL have the next election, and then the next again. And he will be gone.
Replaced by the next iteration of a Reagan-like figure.
I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership, that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose. Ronald Reagan, July 17, 1980.
It is weird, because Chomsky and his brand of politics are not significantly different from fascism. Hitchens had a similar disconnect after 911; he wanted a socialist tyranny, but not a muslim one. They fail to understand they are all tyrannies and the difference is of little consequence.
During the last 10 years, when I became acquainted with Chomsky’s more recent works, it seems to me he is a very malevolent and malicious person. Maybe not so much 30 years ago, but some people get bitter with old age.
You must be kidding!
How's that working out in Venezuela?
PLEASE FORWARD these links to anyone who has been lied to by the media and politicians about the Tea Party Movement, which of course is everybody.
The True Face of the Tea Partiers
Yeah, not much to get out of a 1975 interview when candidate Reagan was being interviewed by a libertarian magazine, did you read the rest of the interview, do you have lots and lots of other wonderful Reagan libertarian quotes over his 93 year life?
You read some history, read post 21.
Pure Marxism. Public (governmental) ownership of the means of production is the cornerstone of socialism.
Chomsky masquerades himself as a non-Marxist to make himself desirable: people think they know enough of socialism (although they cannot recognize it even when they are looking at it). In all his rants (and they are typically deprived of logic or even clear use of the terms) I have never detected any departure from simple, banal Marxism.
He’s a goose-stepping Marxist who masturbates thinking about Erich Honecker.
Sorry, not only do I think that you should read that, but delve a bit deeper. You seem to think that he just might be a nice libertarian if we all just got to know him better...
That is your problem...
I have no idea who you are, and of course you have no idea who I am, or what I know, or what I’ve studied, or what I do or do not take seriously. But the ignorant frequently make assumptions about that which they know nothing.
I really don’t give a damn what you think, but there may be some others who do know me here, so for the record...
I have read, and published, most of the works of the founders, and frequently quote them. I have repudiated everything about Chomsky on a number of occasions, though for me, there are much bigger fish to fry. His influence ultimately, is minimal, compared to all the leftist, post-modernist, cultural Marxist professors and academics destroying the minds of our young people in the colleges and universities.
Have you read all of the Federalist and Anti-federalist papers? I have. Have you studied Locke, and Paine, and Franklin and Adams? I have. I’ve made a life-long study of religion and philosophy, as well as mathematics, science, electronics, and computer science, just for the record.
Come back, sonny, when you’ve learned to act and speak like a gentlemen and a man of integrity, who doesn’t make assumptions about other people’s knowledge and views.
Hank
No the problem is that you think that you are in charge of deciding who is a libertarian, maybe you can get congress to pass a law forbidding Noam Chomsky from being one, or David Letterman, or Bill Maher.
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe my eyes. How things have changed on the “premier conservative website” of America. Now we are white-washing and even admiring the likes of Noam Chomsky, one of the most radically leftist agitators that ever lived?
More and more posters here are outing themselves as “fellow travelers” of the hard communist left.
Well, I think that it’s a shame that you don’t understand my statements about Chomsky. You seem to think that taking the argument into vastly different areas are going to make a difference.
I was and still am talking about the socialist, communist, idiot - Chamsky! You on the other have want to talk about other things - I understand.
If you want to continue - talk about why you think that Chomsky is just another libertarian. Otherwise, I’m really not interested...
WTF? Who's "white-washing" Noam Chumpskey? I trust you aren't directing that statement at me.
I've got swamp land in Arizona to sell you, too. And the tea parties embrace chomsky's endorsement.... why?.....
Heh...only the few uneducated about his antics - to say the least...
You are absolutely correct. Further, he warped the minds of many young Americans. Through his teachings causing them to hate their nation and embrace marxism. Now he is afraid of the very monster he and others like him birthed in America. Cowardly Bastard. Don't worry Noam, if it comes to it, the patriotic Americans you scorned and derided so much will protect you with their lives against the government you wanted. And when we are done with that, we'll give you a fair trial then hang you next to Jane Fonda and Bill Ayers.
