Ankara, Turkey, Apr 28, 2010 / 01:05 am (CNA/EWTN News).- A Chinese-Turkish exploration team reported on Sunday that they have discovered a wooden structure on the top of Mt. Ararat in Turkey which they believe to be the biblical Noah's Ark.

In addition to the Gilgamesh epic, a similar story of the Flood is also told in ancient Greek Mythology.

No, not really. Here's the passage:
In Noah's time, 'Ararat' was a kingdom so 'the mountains' was a part of the kingdom. This bit with putting the Ark on Mt. Ararat is like Jonah swallowed by a whale or Jesus born on 25 Dec. Everyone says it but it's just not in the scriptures.
I read somewhere that the biblical “flood” so to speak was in reality either the Bosphorus Straits that were not open yet suddenly collapsed and created a “flood” so to speak into the Black Sea.

I also pinged the mods for removing the story body as I did not see any reference in the link to the LA Times/Wash Post copyright violation.
Just watched the Discovery channel the other night saying that there is no way they could have built a ship that size 4 thousand years ago. I hope this is Noah’s Ark but you will never convince any atheist or scientist that it is truly the Ark

As a younger man I gobbled up everything these kinds of outlets put out. I was a rabid National Geographic, Public TV documentary, Popular Science, Smithsonian, Reader's Digest, Time magazine fan. I believed everything and took pride in parroting back all the "facts". After all, these people carried clipboards and wore white lab coats didn't they? As time passed, however, I kept noticing how they kept reversing their "findings". Then I began to notice hidden political agendas. Then I was clued in to the amazing world of government grants and how all that worked.
I have no idea about this latest Noah's ark finding. If I were Noah, I would probably disassemble the ark and use the wood to build houses etc... since after the flood everything had been swept away. But as for the Discovery Channel...I wouldn't put much stock in anything they say.
If you think we are living in the end "End Times", finding Noah's Ark in what are called 'the days of Noah', this makes perfect sense. In the later days knowledge shall increase, man will run to and fro without finding satisfaction.
