Karl Rove Speaks Out Against Arizona Immigration Law
CBS News - Political Hotsheet ^ | 2010-04-28 | Stephanie Condon

Karl Rove, who served as chief political strategist for former President George W. Bush, is the latest Republican to speak out against Arizona's controversial new immigration law, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

"I think there is going to be some constitutional problems with the bill," Rove reportedly said at a senior community center in The Villages, Forida, where he made a stop on his book tour. "I wished they hadn't passed it, in a way."

Arizona's new law, signed by the governor on Friday, would require immigrants to carry documents verifying their immigration status. It would also require police officers to question a person about his or her immigration status if there is "reasonable suspicion" that person may be illegally in the country.

This is why you should be considered an outsider Karl. Dipshit couldn’t even out Richard Armitage when he had the chance.

Hey Rove, you believe in AGW like McCain and Newt, don’t you?

Like his former boss, Rove is more loyal to cheap labor interests than his country.

Karl, this law in Arizona was specifically authorized by the Congress and the President.

I believe it was even the president you worked for, President Bush.

Rove is still carrying the Bushes’ water. Perhaps he’s hoping for Minister of Propaganda in the new North American Union those guys seem to be working towards.

“I wished they hadn’t passed it, in a way.”

That sound more like “Darn, that’s politically inconvenient.”

As for it being un-Constitutional - Arizona is just enforcing the laws the Feds won’t. If Federal Immigration Laws are Constitutional, then Arizona’s law should be also..

Bush's immigration views and proposals were pretty questionable. Conservatives helped take down his Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill. I wish we could give amnesty to a certain amount of people that are willing to learn English and pay thousands in fines. But, the problem is that this would just be more people leaching onto our already bankrupt social programs. I think we are in a crisis situation not because of crime, but because of debt. I wish we could give amnesty to these Mexicans using the same rigorous standards that we put on legal immigrants, if you don't have a skill then you aren't welcome on a longterm basis. On top of that they would pay thousands in fines.
