Arizona faces tougher sanctions than Iran [WELCOME TO FASCIZONA]
Orange County Register ^ | 30 April 2010 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 04/30/2010 11:13:51 PM PDT by JLS

As I write, I have my papers on me – and not just because I'm in Arizona. I'm an immigrant, and it is a condition of my admission to this great land that I carry documentary proof of my residency status with me at all times and be prepared to produce it to law enforcement officials, whether on a business trip to Tucson or taking a stroll in the woods back at my pad in New Hampshire.

Who would impose such an outrageous Nazi fascist discriminatory law?

Its getting to the point where there is literally no use in trying to debate at all. Even a cursory glance at the facts in such cases as the Arizona law shows how ridiculous the left is being and yet they march on, poker-faced as though they have not told the most outrageous lie possible.

All immigrants are required to carry documentation. At this point I really think we would be better off just pointing at liberals and screaming WIMP! LOSER! CRYBABY! Just go for the pure emotional. Anyone who bases their politics on reason is already a conservative of some flavor. And no died in the wool liberal is going to switch sides. So we only need to convince the "moderates" that liberals are a bunch of pathetic bedwetting retrobates and we can sweep all elections.

I don’t know about anyone else , but me and approx 20+ friends are going to turn out along the local highway with U.S. Flags tomorrow , in support of the Great State of Arizona . We plan to stand up to these pinheads that have their ‘new Aztlan’ agenda BS

In the days to come MILLIONS of Americans should do this .
Screw the multifarious Tea Party issues for the time being .

SECURE our damn borders 1st !

millions upon millions ....come on people

"are going to turn out along the local highway with U.S. Flags tomorrow , in support of the Great State of Arizona . "

The typical tactic of lawyer/communist/liberal losers is to accuse the accuser.

This strays a little from the posted article but I found something that was buggin’ me and this thread seems close enough.

Isn’t the bird logo thing at this link socialist?
http://www.ufw.org/_board.php?mode=view&b_code=cre_leg_back&b_no=6184

Obama declares a Cesar Chavez Day— for a socialist? Also Obama used Ceasar’s slogan?

“It was epitomized by the words from my father’s 1972 fast in Arizona, “Si Se Puede!” (“Yes We Can”), which have been adopted by activists worldwide.”

Sometimes I think those dems and Obama are trying to go Che on us. The illegal immigrants will do their revolution dirty work.

Psh, this Obama stuff gets to me...I sound like a nut!

Because it's not about hispanics. It's about illegal aliens regardless of where they originate. Granted, the majority are Mexican, but many travel through Mexico to get to the US so that they can ride the free gravy train.

Nobody is discussing the federal law. This is a case of federal law that is not being enforced. Why? Because an undocumented worker is valuable to those who have no regard for the law and the security of this country.

Thanks to Michael Savage that I found this federal code:

Sec. 1304. Forms for registration and fingerprinting

(a) Preparation; contents The Attorney General and the Secretary of State jointly are authorized and directed to prepare forms for the registration of aliens under section 1301 of this title, and the Attorney General is authorized and directed to prepare forms for the registration and fingerprinting of aliens under section 1302 of this title. Such forms shall contain inquiries with respect to (1) the date and place of entry of the alien into the United States; (2) activities in which he has been and intends to be engaged; (3) the length of time he expects to remain in the United States; (4) the police and criminal record, if any, of such alien; and (5) such additional matters as may be prescribed. (b) Confidential nature All registration and fingerprint records made under the provisions of this subchapter shall be confidential, and shall be made available only (1) pursuant to section 1357(f)(2) of this title, and (2) to such persons or agencies as may be designated by the Attorney General. (c) Information under oath Every person required to apply for the registration of himself or another under this subchapter shall submit under oath the information required for such registration. Any person authorized under regulations issued by the Attorney General to register aliens under this subchapter shall be authorized to administer oaths for such purpose. (d) Certificate of alien registration or alien receipt card Every alien in the United States who has been registered and fingerprinted under the provisions of the Alien Registration Act, 1940, or under the provisions of this chapter shall be issued a certificate of alien registration or an alien registration receipt card in such form and manner and at such time as shall be prescribed under regulations issued by the Attorney General. (e) Personal possession of registration or receipt card; penalties Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both. (f) Alien’s social security account number Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Attorney General is authorized to require any alien to provide the alien’s social security account number for purposes of inclusion in any record of the alien maintained by the Attorney General or the Service. AMENDMENTS 1996 - Subsec. (f). Pub. L. 104-208 added subsec. (f). 1990 - Subsec. (b). Pub. L. 101-649 inserted “(1) pursuant to section 1357(f)(2) of this title, and (2)” after “only”. 1988 - Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 100-525 amended Pub. L. 99-653. See 1986 Amendment note below. 1986 - Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 99-653, as amended by Pub. L. 100-525, amended first sentence generally, striking out “and fingerprinting” before “of aliens under section 1301”. EFFECTIVE DATE OF 1988 AMENDMENT Amendment by Pub. L. 100-525 effective as if included in the enactment of the Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments of 1986, Pub. L. 99-653, see section 309(b)(15) of Pub. L. 102-232, set out as an Effective and Termination Dates of 1988 Amendments note under section 1101 of this title. EFFECTIVE DATE OF 1986 AMENDMENT Amendment by Pub. L. 99-653 applicable to applications for immigrant visas made, and visas issued, on or after Nov. 14, 1986, see section 23(b) of Pub. L. 99-653, set out as a note under section 1201 of this title.

His math is wrong.

$139 Billion is 0.35% of $40 Trillion, not 0.0035%.

I too carry my “papers” on me, but refer to it as my driver’s license. People who don’t drive have a State ID. I’m often required to produce my ID, and not just by LEOs. If I want a beer I have to have an approved ID with me. Cash a check, buy tobacco or alcohol, rent a hotel/motel room, buy/rent a home, get electricity hooked up... the list is long.
The only difference with the new Arizona law is that if illegals are found they can be prosecuted under State law.

But that only applies to legal aliens. The feds have made illegals exempt.

I found the perfect reference to give to anyone who calls an illegal alien an “immigrant.”

http://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView/SLB/HTML/SLB/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-29/0-0-0-101.html#0-0-0-585

It clearly explains what the definition of an immigrant is under subsection (15).

Throw that at every liberal who uses the word “immigrant” to describe illegals.
