Voted, and glad but not surprised. Question is will this poll or even a vote matter.

And it is correct that they push their agenda further and further, and will never be happy no matter how much the “win” in special privileges above and beyond what are guaranteed to all people equally. Proof of that is that the homosexual agenda is still protesting in MA!! Nothing will ever be enough, the more the govt. gives the more they want. The old inch/mile thing.

Hawaii voters in ‘98 passed an Amendment to state Constitution to protect traditional marriage — they did it by about a 70/30 margin. State lawmakers are really playing with fire by taking this move with HB444 — they basically pulled a rules gimmick to even get it passed, and they are going to pay for it in the polls in November, IMO.

The Dems have recklessly awoken the common-sense conservative beast in Hawaii...

This is what gets me riled up. Conservatives and traditionalists vastly outnumber leftist liberals, but pale in their activism in the governmental process compared to the small contingent of leftists, who make it virtually their livelihood. I guess it's partly because conservatives have meaningful lives to live with family and see such activism as meddling in the lives of others. But this is now a matter of survival and being active in government, from local on up, is imperative in order to repel the barbarians.

Voting is the absolute basic minimum of what we should do; we need to be attending and speaking out in council meetings and town halls. We need to be writing city councilmen, legislators, newspapers, and even the White House on an ongoing basis. The best and brightest of us need to be running for office.

so true remember how they said in NH that they just want civil unions but as soon as they got that they then said they want marriage
after marriage it is teach it in schools,

while the poll does not surprise me and that most people do not want their agenda there is some people however who still to this day say well they just want to be left alone or they just want to be with each other

NO THEY DON’T IT IS ABOUT A LARGER AGENDA

Can’t argue that. Just like CA, they will keep pushing their agenda until they find a way to jam it through whether we like it or not.

Your tagline has it right too. You are spot-on in your assessment - we are, basically, a center-right country, but we act like frogs in the proverbial pot that slowly warms.

The Dems mistake (and maybe what will end up saving us, ironically) is that they went from 0-scalding in 6 seconds after they got Obama elected. (With some help of feckless and/or corrupt RINOs).

We just need to stay engaged and capture the common-sense independents. Because that's what conservatism ultimately boils down to: common sense.

Oh, and I will shamelessly plagiarize your post - you articulated your point perfectly!
