Carly Fiorina picks up endorsements from moderate, conservative groups

The New Majority California, an influential group formed by moderate Republicans in Orange County a decade ago, is backing former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in the three-way Republican race to replace U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer.

The group’s chairman, Larry Higby, said the decision was “a relatively close call” between Fiorina and former Rep. Tom Campbell, a fiscal conservative who supported gay marriage and abortion rights.

“The main issue was that we felt that Carly had a much better chance to beat Barbara Boxer,” said Higby, adding that Fiorina’s business background and her debating skills were viewed as major assets. “I think that really swung members that way.”

The New Majority, which now has more than 300 members in four chapters, was formed in 1999 with the aim of electing more mainstream, fiscally conservative Republicans. Each of the group's members is required to contribute $10,000 annually.

The group’s members were prominent backers of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2003. Its annual budget is $3.5 million, according to its website. In the first quarter of this year, the New Majority California’s federal political action committee reported about $56,000 in cash on hand.

New Majority.

The same group that helped aRnold win California.

Still playing their 'middle of the road' games for their own ends.

She’ll vote with the Democrats 75% of the time instead of 100% of the time, so she’d be an improvement.

And they call themselves Republicans? That they have anything to do with Fiorina tells me all I need to know about her.

She buy those endorsements like she bought Deutsche Bank’s proxy votes in her fight with Bill Hewlett’s son?

With the mountains of evidence to support the idea that conservatism wins, you have to conclude that the RINO's stands aren't merely strategic.

They really believe their own blather...

Chick - Strike One.

Someone who nearly ran a perfectly good company into the ground - Strike Two.

Add California - Strike Three.

She also called the supporters of the AZ illegal immigration law racists. About the only thing she has going for her is that she isn’t Barbara Boxer.

Oh well, no one ever accused a republican "moderates" of being quick studies.

Coats won tonight in Indiana. Chuck DeVore is trailing two worthless RINOs in CA. Looks like the GOP voters are just as stupid as they were in 2008.

Anybody who backs Carly (everything I touch turns to sh!t1) Fiorina needs to have their head examined.

1Two examples:

She's also buds with RINO McCain.

I was ready to give her the benefit of the doubt until her “racist” remark the other day. If she thinks enforcing immigration law is racist, she may as well stay home. And if I’m going to be maligned it may as well be by a Democrat.

For me, its Chuck DeVore or forget it.
