U.S. Marines boot recruits with Confederate tattoos

A widely regarded Southern symbol of pride and states' rights is standing in the way of would-be Marines in their quest to serve their country – a Confederate battle flag.

Straight out of high school, one 18-year-old Tennessee man was determined to serve his country as a Marine. His friend said he passed the pre-enlistment tests and physical exams and looked forward with excitement to the day he would ship out to boot camp.

But there would be no shouting drill instructors, no rigorous physical training and no action-packed stories for the aspiring Marine to share with his family.

Shortly before he was scheduled to leave Nashville for boot camp, the Marine Corps rejected him.

Now, the young man, who wishes to remain unnamed and declined to be interviewed, has chosen to return to school and is no longer an aspiring Marine.

"I think he just wants to let it go," said former Marine 1st Lt. Gene Andrews, a friend of the man and patriotic Southerner who served in Vietnam from 1968 through 1971. Andrews is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a group of male descendents of Confederate soldiers. He counseled the young man when he decided to become a Marine.

"He had been talking to me, and he was all fired up about joining," he told WND. "He asked my opinion of it, and I just tried to tell him the truth, good points and bad points."

When the young recruit didn't go to boot camp, Andrews learned of his rejection based on his tattoo of the Confederate battle flag on his shoulder.

Again I ask what country do you owe your allegiance to, The Dead CSA or the Live USA?

Or if you cannot answer that one....

Which country do you expect me to owe my allegiance to, The dead CSA or the Live USA?

al·le·giance (-ljns) KEY NOUN:
  1. Loyalty or the obligation of loyalty, as to a nation, sovereign, or cause. See Synonyms at fidelity.
  2. The obligations of a vassal to a lord.

As defined above, yes. I pay tribute to an empire every year. I am obliged to do so under the threat of imprisonment/personal economic ruin. The state I live in Virginia, is a vassal state of that empire. Until, such time, if ever, the state of Virginia declares her rightful sovereignty (again) I will end my obligations to the US empire and my allegiances will fall to my new country.

Can someone despise the entity called the “Federal Government” and love their country(i.e. the republic) and their state at the same time? Simple Yes or No will do.

I won’t answer your question until you answer mine.

The Dead CSA or the Live USA, which one should we owe our allegiance to?

Go sit in the corner..

Where do you live? State? Or, are you ( like the rest of your Statist buds ) domiciled in the Halls of Congress??

I don't know about y'all-- I'm Sovereign! If you, and your hordes of loyalist march into my State - don't expect flowers. What is more important? Freedom, or murdering your (brothers) for some sort of National Pride?

If that is your answer then you are a bigger fool than even I was willing to give you credit for.

No country can ever force your loyalty or fidelity and as such can never demand your allegiance, loyalty, fidelity and allegiance are things that can only be given freely or not at all, they are sacred acts or oaths that a citizen decides to knowingly bestows upon the other citizens of his country.

That you give your loyalty, fidelity and allegiance to a Government that will never again rule on this earth is quite frankly shameful and disgusting.

Let me amend that to The Dead Government of the Confederate States of America.

Which by the way was never a republic at all....

Webster's [pre 1864] edition

Federal:

1. Pertaining to a league or contract; derived from an agreement or covenant between parties, particularly between nations. 2. Consisting in a compact between parties, particularly and chiefly between states or nations; founded on alliance by contract or mutual agreement; as a federal government, such as that of the United States.

I can read quite well, it is you that cannot even understand what you write.

You speck of allegiance as an obligation you owe to a “US empire”, it is not an obligation no more than loyalty or fidelity are obligations.

Allegiance, loyalty, and fidelity are all things that can only be given freely by choice, no gun can ever cause you to given them to your “US empire” and yet you say you do so under obligation under threat of imprisonment.

As for me I freely took a sacred oath to defend this country The United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic (that would include you if you act to reform the DEAD CSA from the graveyard of history) and to defend it’s constitution, and I would do so again at the drop of a hat, people like you are almost as big a threat to this country and it’s citizens as this ineligible president only slightly less so,like a gnat on a lion’s ass.
