The Worst Disaster Since the Civil War But Not as News Worthy as an Oil Spill
David Horowitz's NewsRealBlog ^ | May 6, 20010 | Rhonda Robinson

While Katie Couric and Michael Bloomberg were surmising that Tea Party Patriots were behind the failed New York bombing, Nashville was waking up to the aftermath of the area’s largest rainfall in 500 years.

The storms began rolling in Saturday afternoon as I watched the radar. By early evening, I was glued to the local news. People were fleeing their cars, as they began to float. A Christian school building was swept away and joined cars and trucks drifting down highway 24.

The damage is devastating, the cost is in the billions; thousands have lost everything, but is it news worthy? Not really, not to the extent it deserves. Some are asking why, but some of us believe the answer is obvious.

Nashville is full of Tea Party patriots....didn’t they just have a Tea Party convention in Nashville???

as is such they are a threat to emperor obama hence he will not help and his errand boys in the criminal liberal media have no time to cover this disaster...

Obama is only President of the people and the states that voted for him. He’s made that abundantly clear already.

“Nashville was waking up to the aftermath of the area’s largest rainfall in 500 years.”

Wow. They found records going back to 1510. I didn’t know.

Thank you. I knew there was flooding in Nashville, but not to the degree you revealed. And I think you’re absolutely right, BTW.

I’m amazed that I am seeing no news crews (except for the local stations) around the downtown area.

When I talk to people outside the Nashville area they have no clue how bad it is here.

I seem to remember some bad floods last year in the upper midwest. As bad as Katrina. Obama sat on his hands, and the press said little or nothing.

I’m in Cincinnati, and I had no idea. No local coverage at all.

I was in Memphis the day the Sadaam brothers were captured. What didn’t make the news that day was an unbelievable straight line wind storm in Memphis that knocked the city off its hinges for about 3 weeks ... 200 year old trees down everywhere, huge damage, etc. But not a “peep” in the national media ... not a peep in the local media either because there was no electricity. So I know how these folks must feel ... they should be FRONT PAGE NEWS. God bless them.

It’s the Bible Belt.

For Obama, it’s like sunlight is to vampires.

If this disaster would have happened in Harlem, we would have been inundated by 24 hour newscasts, telethons and weeping celebrities the very first day.

I had no idea how bad it was until people started posting about it on some of the music forums I participate in. Gibson Guitars is underwater. Many of the Nashville studios that house irreplaceable, vintage gear underwater. While obviously not even comparing to the tragic loss of life, just the loss to the music world is unimaginable.

Those would be the floods that threatened Fargo ND. The people of Fargo joined the NG in putting up sandbags against the swollen river. They were all White people, not waiting for the feds to come save them. This happened two years in a row and Obama said nothing.

“...Gibson Guitars is underwater...”

Sorry to hear that as well as all of the other losses.

Fortunately OUR Gibson Guitar is NOT under water, just snow covered.

Gibson has an acoustic guitar plant here in Bozeman, MT.

My heart goes out to the people in Nashville. The media and lack of DC response makes me furious! I fear this is a preview of what will happen if my area has a hurricane this summer since our rep voted against Obamacare.

Where’s Al Gore?

Now that you mention it, didn't he just buy and move into a new home in California? Just in time to miss this record breaking rainfall and flood in his "native" Tennessee.

Coincidence? I think not!
