Facebook turns on Palin
Politico ^ | 5/06/10 | Andy Barr

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement of Carly Fiorina in California's Senate race has prompted a fervent blowback on her Facebook page, long Palin's safe haven for delivering her message.

The revolt is coming from Palin supporters who also back Chuck DeVore – a tea party favorite who is campaigning against Fiorina in the Republican primary.

Palin’s Facebook page is littered with comments opposing her endorsement of Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard.

“The only REAL CONSERVATIVE is Chuck DeVore. Fiorina is a RINO and we don't need any more of those in [California],” one irate commenter wrote. “Why wouldn't you back Chuck DeVore???”

“Sorry Sarah but I think Chuck DeVore is the conservative candidate you should be supporting,” added another, who was followed up by a DeVore supporter who wrote: “I don't agree with this endorsement AT ALL! What are you thinking Sarah?”

Fascists want to know who people voted for in elections. She may not be a fascist, but she acted like one in that instance, so it was an appropriate comment.

“DeMint”

You’re a hypocrite.

DeMint endorsed and wholeheartedly supported Mitt Romney.

What’s ok for DeMint is a disqualifier for Palin....LMAO.

Try to be consistent.

...and Fiorina is very conservative for California, she can beat Boxer.

That’s what I said, Palin emerged as the conservative leader immediately, and at what looked like our weakest moment, Palin jumped right into Obama’s stuff and started stripping the awe right off of him.

Her very first major act was to help us save that Senate seat only a month after the November, 2008 anointment of the deified Barrack Obama.

Wow, I'm a hypocrite for responding to this post with "DeMint":

“The Republican party has NO ONE that can save it ....”

Paul Ryan?

Mitch Daniels?

I’d like to see Palin in Steel’s spot - or doing something involving energy policy.

Fail.

Lacking logic today?

You’re offering DeMint as the answer, yet Palin is disqualified.

DeMint supported Mitt Romney. You fail to see the double standard there?

Lacking logic today?

Yes, you are.

You’re offering DeMint as the answer, yet Palin is disqualified.

I said nothing about Palin. I answered a comment/question that NO ONE could save the party by suggesting that DeMint could.

Are you always this defensive?

Your response is both juvenile and lacking logic.

It’s there for all to see.

Nothing juvenile about it, or lacking logic.

Demint can save the party.

What was the point?

I responded to the following in post#319, "Why don’t you support Jim Robinson, then? Surely, he’s more acceptable than DeVore."

"If she had as much info as me, she might be smart."

Do you have the insider poll numbers about California's electorate? Candidates who mount a campaign for US Senate in California must have good numbers on the following:

1. The voter's evaluation of the candidates.

2. The voter's evaluation of current government performance.

3. The voter's evaluation of the issues of public policy.

4. The voter's present party affiliaton.

5. The voter's general ideological disposition.

Perhaps Carly Fiorina has the best chance of winning in California based upon some scientific numbers that the Fiorina team shared with Sarah Palin.

Yep, that argument “at least he’s not the other guy” worked so well. If you can’t win a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION and get people who showed up LAST ELECTION to show up this time with that argument, what makes you think you are going to win a Senate race with it?

Putting someone in office who does not make their decisions on principles then they are going to stab you in the back, its not a question of IF but only WHEN. The conservative movement has been stabbed in the back enough by RINOs and LIBERALS wearing the REPUBLICAN badge.

Ask yourself a few simple questions before you chastise folks who won’t vote or support a liberal Republican. 1) Why is english as the official language never been voted on, EVER???? Republicans controlled both houses, never came up once. 2) Why has Presidents Kennedy’s executive order that allowed federal unions, never been recinded? Have countless Republican presidents since then... etc etc etc... Why? Why why? Why is it all you need is 3 election wins as a representative and you get a full pension and benefits for LIFE???? Why why why?

RINOs... no more of them.

Supporting the reelection of Democrats like Boxer to run our nation, is no strategy.

Silly Republicans: When will you learn that every time you compromise your principals its a double epic fail:

Fail 1: You loose the election, because no one shows up to vote for a RINO.

Fail 2: You loose your soul. If you’re an atheist, and you don’t believe in a soul, then you loose your principals. And you feel dirty, because you are dirty.

How many times must the cycle repeat itself before Republicans learn?

Winning an election is never the most important thing. Fear that which you should fear most: loosing your way.

SoCalPol: You made a very good post here. In it you state “Campbell was the Islamic terrorists’ best friend in Congress when he served. Campbell, as I’ve noted before, is a friend of convicted Islamic terrorist and Islamic Jihad founder and frontman, Sami Al-Arian.”

He and others like him need to be exposed and opposed. Outing supporters like Kabar is also important.

Keep up the good work.

Failing to support a RINO/Liberal republican is not the same as supporting a Democrat, and continuing to regurgitate that nonsense is silly and disingenuous.

In terms of national politics, one senate race swings nothing... A presidency you can make somewhat of an argument, but not for a congressional seat.

Putting someone in the legislative branch who is not principled is simply going to mean you will be betrayed sooner or later. You put in a RINO and what happens next election? You have a RINO v Conservative in the primary and guess what? The incumbent wins.. so you get stuck with a RINO for many many election cycles...Silly. Enough of that stupid nonsense.

Better to have an enemy you know than a betrayer you think is not. Pure and Simple.

Carly was a disaster at HP, and would be an even bigger disaster in DC... To think otherwise is foolish. If she is the best California can put forward, then it is no wonder its the basket case that it is.
